They did, along with one of the stills that's been posted here. It was a late and clumsy challenge, but I don't think for a moment that there was any malicious intent—you can hardly compare it to Thatcher's and Barton's assaults on poor old Mendes last season, or Keane's on Haugland (or, for those old enough to remember, Goicochea's on Maradona). Taylor went for the ball; it just wasn't there any longer and he collected Eduardo instead.

Wenger has obviously realised this and realised also that he came across as a complete knob, and a hypocritical knob at that. Presumably his famed temporary blindness takes over when Eboué puts in far, far worse 'tackles'.

im suprised zoko pops didnt have his leg broken last year home to chelsea (was it lumphead?) that was by far a worse tackle. After today im no longer annoyed by the recent spout of red cards for studs showing or 2-footed tackles. normally its not a big issue as normally no real harm is done, but today shows what can happen if you are unfortunate.

I'm glad MotD showed it, especially after Sky not doing so, because to be honest, it wasn't that horrific... They showed James Vaughan's (I think it was him) leg pissing blood when he cut a blood vessel, and that was less pleasant than Eduardo's crumpled leg...

It seems that due to the injury, the tackle is being made out to be worse than it actually was... Usually those sorts of tackles just rake down the shin, and sometimes don't even get red cards...

I can't believe how sick that made me feel earlier, watching the Ice Hockey vid. I never normally care about anything like that :? I used to visit Rotton.com daily... I'm completely desensitized to most things, so it's very odd that it did that to me.

Believe it or not, it happened again earlier this month :)

Note: This vid is less nasty than the other one

I'm similar dude, so many internet videos watched & visits to Ogrish back in the day, but one video had me feeling so sick I had to lay down for a few hours... some teenage lad in american smashed in his 'maxilla' during a bmx stunt, it was grim.

Anybody that says "good he's a gooner" is a prick.

Arsene Wenger becomes a bigger prick every day it seems. I heard him say last week in a response to a question about his players trying (and succeeding) to kick Nani :
"No-one likes to be humiliated".

And Wenger didn't seem to want Hoyte banned for life when he made a similar tackle on keane (luckily it was Robbie Keane and he had already jumped out the way)

Poor bastard. I hope the fella makes a speedy recovery.

And I also hope they carry on red carding every **** that tackles like this. I also hope the "are refs making the game soft" mob stop and think. Who do want to watch Martin taylors or Eduardo's.

Aye, I had to lay down myself

Guess that for all the shit and nastiness that we can happily let go over our heads on the net, there's some stuff that you cannot get away from. I found mine earlier :)

I dunno how people can say its not that bad. The MOTD slow-mo looked horrific. His foot looked like it was going to come clean off.

The 'I wish it happened to all the Arsenal players' line is pathetic. If it did, we'd have nobody to play against you moron.

One of my Gooner mates who is astute when it comes to football reckonned this lad had the capacity to be better than Fabregas .

Adversity can be a motivator but even if he is able to resume playing , his peak of potential must have been lowered .

A real pity .

Good luck son .

They always look worse in slow-mo... It was a bad tackle, but certainly not the worst this season...

Terrible injury, but not that bad a challenge really, he caught him sweet & very late. It was all about the angle.

To be fair to Taylor he went for the ball (from a standing start I might add), Eduardo was too quick.

Still, a full house break could mean the end for eduardo, as I daresay many a ligament, tendon and muscle will have been ripped in the process.

As they said on MOTD, it wasn't as if Taylor ran twenty yards and launched into a two-footed kung-fu assault.
