Imagine this mate. On a night out your are an absolute stud on the dance floor. You went through difficult years during puberty looking on from the outside but finally you are out there doing your thing every weekend and it's going great. Every Saturday you are pulling stunners way above your league and you think it's never going to end.

Then suddenly things dry up. You try a few different things hoping to get your mojo back but it's just not working. Then one night some girl expresses some interest. Sure, she isn't the standard you really want but maybe she's enough to get you back on your game. Ultimately you still aren't quite convinced and its only 9pm so you hunt around for the real catch.

1am comes and the herd is thinning, suddenly the girl from earlier doesn't look so bad but guess what, she's just copped off with some other fella and now you are back to square one with not long left in the night.

Make sense!?
the fella being her ex boyfriend who is super hot but a bit broke right now

I didn't want him but it is our apparent lack of strategy which worries me.

We could have had players in early January to give us more strength in depth. Instead we seem to have minced around on a player who is now going to Barca, a left winger who we have no chance with nor does he really fit one of the problem areas we have and someone more defensive in midfield who is seemingly dog shit.

I thought we wanted a centre back, central midfielder with an eye for a pass and a striker.

Same story every transfer window....
What players could we have had in early January?

I hear you, but respectfully disagree about the current situation. I don’t doubt there is a plan a d strategy with Fabio and Conte. It’s a question of securing the services of the right players, at the right time. Diaz may be on a shortlist of players they targeted for his position. But, perhaps they were not expecting him to be available in January. But now he is. So, they have pivoted accordingly.

Same would happen, if for some strange reason the like of Pau Torres or De Ligt was suddenly available. We may be waiting to the summer to focus on another CB, but circumstances change, and you have to be ready to react to those changes.

I am completely confident there is a strategy and plan when it comes to improving the squad. It’s more a question of timing. Conte may have decided we need 5 key positions filled. We will provide him with what he wants by the start of next season. Just so happens that we have a chance to fill one of the five now that Diaz is available.
Get out of here with your calm and sensible logic. Can't you read a room? ;)

The positions of #PSG and Tottenham for the loan of Tanguy Ndombele have come closer together around a loan with an option to buy with 100% of the salary paid by Paris. The two clubs are discussing the purchase option but Paris is ready to make an effort even without a departure

Shame it's not an obligation
While I agree, I'm not too concerned. If he performs well there (which I think he will) PSG will likely be back in for him permanently. With Mbappe on his way out they'll want to bring in some "French Stars" I would imagine. Plus their midfield outside of Verratti is pretty poor on the ball.

It's amazing how someone can be so lazy and useless for 3 years and then land directly on their feet with what I'd imagine is his dream move.

On my flight from Jo'berg back to London and I can confirm that there is no one fit enough in business class to be a footballer and therefore for the next 10 hours I will need to rely on this thread ...............
