Which team would object if uefa decided to have the final group match spurs v vitesse?

Rennes don't play and can enjoy winter break
Vitesse get the chance to qualify and putting it in their hands
Spurs get to play easier opposition and just need to draw

As del boy would say everyone's a winner

Vitesse would object, as would we in their scenario. We couldn’t play and we (forget Rennes) have no spare date to play on before 31 Dec. Will be very surprised if the result here is anything other than a 3-0 forfeit defeat for us.

Us Vs Vitesse shouldn't be an option.

It's us VS Rennes or no game.
If no game then it needs to be decided why the game couldn't be played.

If there are no dates, we lose.

It should be decided by another mini table between Spurs, Vitesse and Mura. In that case, Vitesse tops the group and would qualify with Rennes. That is the best possible way to decide it. It wont be fair on Vitesse if Spurs qualified ahead of them.

Should be able to play it in Jan , I see no reason why not for either team. If Rennes refused then they forfeit and we win 3-0.

Easiest & best option is we go out. For the club & UEFA. Knowing we literally need to play the first XI in everything, whats more important? ECL or top 4? I’d argue top 4 is immensely more important for a multitude of reasons. Plus, we have 2 more chances for a trophy in the cups. With the fixture pile up still to come with rearranged fixture galore(at least 3 with an increasing likelihood of more), playing more games this season knowing next seasons pile up is just going to be beyond absurd & fsr worse for everyone involved, it’s not good for players well beings to add more games.

I don’t think the club would be too upset over this & it saves UEFA the headache of a court case from Vitesse. This isnt Champions League or even Europa League & shouldnt be treated as such. This is a competition without an anthem, a distinct broadcast package & has dogs literally shitting on the pitch. Come on now. This this is a joke.

Of the club was happy for us just to go out, I'm sure we would be out already.

So I don't believe they want to just give up.

I'm not sure what grounds Vitesse would have for legal action for any outcome.

Might as well decide it via a medieval style competition titled ‘Trebuchet the Chairman’. The chairman who travels the furthest from said trebuchet wins the match for their side. Levy, it’s over to you! (and wherever you land).

I don't see any other option than we are out tbh. We couldn't fulfill the fixture, so it's on us regardless of the reasons behind it.

But by the same logic, we refuse to play vs Burnley and get 3 points? As they couldn't fulfil the fixture due to inadequate pitch with no under soil heating.

I get that we are the reason the game didn't go ahead to start with, but if Rennes refuse to play as they wanted the game to play then it needs to be looked at more.

Did we have enough players? If we did we lose
If we didn't have enough players did UEFA agree for it to be rearranged? If they didn't we lose
If UEFA agreed was there a date both clubs could play, if not we lose!
If there was a date and one team is refusing, tat team loses.

We've got this. The Vitesse chairman Henk Parren has a very square head. Levy has a massive aerodynamical advantage with his smooth bald pate. COYS!

The cut off date for PL fixtures to be played is the end of the season. Pretty sure all European games have a specific date and in group stages it's the date the final round of fixtures is played. I know this has extenuating circumstances, but I think they are just making sure legally they can't be challenged before kicking us out.

Why not just try and get our last game played.

If there are no available dates, we go out.

If there is, but Rennes won't play we get the 3 points.

If it plays, then result stands and if we win, we go through, draw or lose and we are out.
If there are available dates but Rennes won't play, they should be disqualified and Spurs and Vitesse go through.

Rennes should not have the option to refuse to play a game only Vitesse suffer from the consequences.

Deadline is 31st of December as far as I know. Rennes have no games after the 22nd I think. So if we are saying we can play and gave a date after Christmas, then we have done all we can. If Rennes then refuse what else can we do? That's within the UEFA rules but Rennes are now refusing to play.

The issue is, I think the cut off to play is towards the end of December.
And if it is, I don't think there is a date where neither team is playing midweek/weekend.

It would depend if UEFA have extended that date to include January or not.

Do we have a date we could play?
I'm sure we both play on the 22nd, then we play Sunday, Tuesday Saturday.

I'll also add at this point if it's a case of us going out or playing on an unfavorable date, we'd be better off playing the u23s in it as it'll be a free hit so to speak as we'd be going out regardless.
