Exactly.

A lot of these players won't be regular starters for us.
We're bringing in Romero and supposedly wanting another CB.
Tomiyasu will come in at RB.
Alli won't be playing in that role once Lo Celso/Ndombele return or if we sign a new CM.
We are supposedly trying to sign a CF.

If City do stump up the fee, then we will probably sign another attacker and creative midfielder.

Besides, this is good for Nuno because he will now be seeing first hand that some of these players (Lucas, Alli, Dier) have had ample opportunities and can't do it for us any longer.

Also, it's worth noting our fitness really suffered because of Jose. Nuno will have been killing them so they are in the process of getting stronger in that respect.

What makes you think Tomisysu will come in and hit the ground running? He will need time to adapt.
GLC and Ndombele need to get fit first and see what happens to be honest because they haven’t got long left to prove themselves before they are shown the door imo.
Going to be very much a transitional season with a lot of ins and outs and most of the ins seem to be coming from abroad so will need time to settle

I'm sorry guys but I can't stomach another season of watching Sissoko, Davies, Winks, Doherty, Dier and Sanchez.

we are absolutely FUCKED this year if that's our squad

Personally wouldn't include Davies but other than that totally agree. Priority #1 for this window was clearing out the shit which has been stinking up the club for over two years now, but with 10 days until City none of them look even vaguely close to leaving.

They are not the best team in Europe, no way. They may have won the CL but that doesn't make them the best team they got lucky. Were we the 2nd best team when we got the CL final?
That's what trophies mean. You win it, you're the best. Simples. Chelsea are the best team in Europe, and I hope that makes everyone involved at the club angry enough to reverse the situation.

Its basically the same set of players as last season what are people expecting. The squad is so far short it is criminal and the season is about to start, same old Tottenham transfer window mess. (this is not really a reaction to this game but the bigger picture)

People need to set their expectations accordingly. This is a new project/rebuild - this season is almost a write-off in some ways. With Poch, we didn't get good until his second season, and we peaked in his third.

It's only pre-season, but we'll have to deal with some mediocre performances as the manager beds in his ideas and the new players all gel. We also won't be able to replace all the mediocrity in one window because there's just so much of it.

Might not be what anyone wants to hear but this is where we're at - it's going to need patience.

No one wants to hear that. I agree that people need to calm down, lets just wait until the end of the window and see where we are squad wise.

It's 45 minutes. It's pre-season. It's away at Chelsea. We're missing over half of our first team.

There's OBVIOUSLY fuckloads of work to be done, but we needn't shit our collective trousers just yet.

If we still look this shit 7 or 8 games into the season once everyone's back and Nuno's had more time, that's when I'll start to get worried.

Safe to say that at least 90% of that lot are furious at Kane's lack of loyalty, but they're reacting like this to a loyal homegrown player coming on in a preseason friendly.
Wasn't he outed ad the loose lips.....?

I don't think they've been particularly good outside of Kante and Ziyech. We've just been miles off.
I watched just a few minutes - but we looked tired, with heavy legs. Has it been that way the whole half - have the training sessions sapped teh energy, or did they get worn down over the half?

Only watched a bit before switching off but I still think the lack of ability that our midfield has to take control of games is/will be a glaring issue

Pre season friendly and all that but you can see the massive difference in quality. Alot of people on here are having hojbjerg/Skipp down to start together, someone even said they’ll If that’s the starting midfield next season we’ll dominate 99% of teams in the middle. Don’t want to sound harsh but it’s laughable. Miles away from Dembele/Wanyama level. Not just there though we are far off in every area of the pitch.
