The centre of midfield generally still really worries me.

Hojbjerg, no worries whatsoever.

Skipp, promising for sure but will practically be making the step from Championship to Premiership.
Lo Celso, still yet to find himself in the league and for us in general, injury prone so far.
Ndombele, where the fuck is he and fitness/application worries.
Dele, as of now, still all the same questions marks over him as there have been for the last few years.

Sissoko, say no more.
Winks, say no more

Basically, I just don't have the greatest confidence in what we currently have and I'm worried that it will lead to us not controlling games as we should be again. The good thing is that those 'amber listed players' could certainly potentially get 'in the green' but other than with Skipp, there has to be big improvements among the others, improvements that I'm not sure I trust them to make. Of course though, I do know they cannot be written off at least until we see them playing under Nuno.

Re: Ndombele - great skills, but I don't know if he is a great fit.

Again, just based on the 3 pre-season games so far, but the LCM and RCM both need to be industrious in attack and defending, neither position has room for a passenger on the defensive/pressing side.

If Lo Celso gets up to speed quickly, and I expect he will, I think it will be Dele and Lo Celso, with Hojbjerg sitting behind.

Skipp will either start for Lo Celso, or be on the bench to come in for any of the three starters.

You don't know if there were any issues with the baby or with the partner. Think it's completely understandable if he needs more time.
True - but haven't we seen pictures of him training since? I might be thinking of something else.

Fuck yeah forgot about Ndombele again. This absence surely can't be just for the birth of his child...

He was at open training, he just looked like he didn't give a shit and was going through the motions. I'm going to put it down to sleepless nights with the baby...

I understand having a few days with the family for the birth of a child but i can’t comprehend how it can at all affect your fitness without the player just being lazy and ill disciplined, the clubs not paying his wages to take 1/2 months each season to gently break into it and get match fit again

I did think I saw him. Maybe he doesn't want to be late back to ruin a routine? I don't know. But I think having a newborn he should get a bit of a reprieve, especially considering the charity that this series is for.

We don't know the circumstances, so I wouldn't judge.
