Good run out for pretty much all involved. Skipp was impressive and some of the youngsters look decent but still a way off 1st team - hopefully they get decent loans.

More than Scarlett, today , I thought Parrott looked physically ready and sharp as well. Scarlett finishing was good for offside chance. But felt Parrott was the one who was try to play the linkup play. Scarlett game seems to be running the channel or running behing the defenders. While Troy did the dropping in, holding up play well

Scarlett will get his chance but for me, Parrott also has to be involved in some manner

Nuno interview.

Never would have been on my wish list when we sacked Jose, but I’m feeling really positive about this guy so far.

Nile John looked really good against orient, i think he is normally a winger but has played in the middle 3. I missed most of the 2nd half, did he play in the middle 3 again.

It certainly looks like we will be playing a proper 433 this season at least based on preseason football.

Pretty sure he's a CM, actually. But yeah, he looked really sharp again.

The only thing regarding these youngsters being involved this year is we're likely to use a smaller squad than we have needed for the last few years given the lack of serious European competition, and I think it would be wrong to keep them here for Europa Conference alone. Nowhere near enough game time for those right on the periphery of the first team.

I can honestly see a scenario where we don't use more than 18/20 players the whole season. Therefore barring Tanganga and Skipp the rest really need good loans IMO

I would have Scarlett in the first team squad, he looks seriously good
Agreed!

Look at Rashford and Greenwood (17 when making first appearance) at United. Not all young players need loans, sometimes they just need the right conditions and I think Scarlett will get plenty of opportunities in the league cup, europe conference league and some appearances in the league. Even if it's 10 minutes here and there.

The biggest change from Nuno and Poch is that Nuno won't solely restrict the youth players to training with the 1st team and then not featuring for the U23s or U18s. The likes of Scarlett, John, Devine, Pastoski, could realistically train with the 1st team, feature in U23 games, get minutes in the FA Cup, League Cup and ECL and maybe even make it off the bench for a league game if the 5 subs rule is reinstated. The players who should go back out on loan for more senior minutes and experience are White, Clarke, Parrott, Fagan-Walcott, Eyoma etc
