Horrible performance but you cant go away from the fact we won and were better in the second half.

They missed chances and so did we.

They had players missing and so did we

No praise for Dier who improved massively after his error and kept Lukaku quiet?

No? I suppose that’s not how agendas work though, innit?

This is such a load of bollocks, it’s untrue.

Dier had to get back twice to cover for Walker who failed to track Lukaku.

The fact you refuse to spell the guy’s name correctly, bet your own money on him making a mistake and blindly criticise him is genuinely pathetic.
That fact you cant undestand it was not a spelling mistake even when it was clearly pointed out to you and with a huge example shows me your blinded by your anger and also love for eric

Thought Walker was outstanding and Dier was also good. They were our best defenders.

Walker made so many interceptions, and was alert to threats right across our back line.

Did i even mention your loverboy? I said Walker defended like he was defending for 2 people in the second , it was a compliment to him. You seem to want to read into things that are not there. If I was to say anything about your loverboy id be blunt and say it like i did before
Nope. You said he practically defended for two people. Don’t twist your own words fella. Also doesn’t excuse from the fact that you’re absolutely wrong. Walker was the weakest player in our defence as shown by the fact that Dier had to save him twice when he stopped tracking Lukaku.

Also, lover boy?

A spelling mistake, looking at your old posts that you’ve been making for 6 years. The fact you can’t spell a four letter name correctly says more about you than it does about me.

Also, hilarious that you’ve got the nerve to say I’m blinded by my hatred when you’ve gambled against one of our own players before he’s even kicked a ball.

England's problem is that they neither have a left footed CB of any sort of quality or a decent left footed LB who can stay injury free for long enough. In a back five you need two left footers at LCB and LB to get the most out of the width the formation creates, if not demands, otherwise you compress the pitch horribly and every match becomes a slog.

Absolutely hilarious that they still managed to beat Belgium but unfortunately it might make Southgate feel vindicated. He isn't by a long shot.

You have no idea what you are talking about, you are completely wrong.

Disclaimer: I do not agree with my above statement but as everyone else is arguing I felt we should too.

Agree and it was a huge slice of luck with the deflection , but of course you'll take the win and points

They’ve got the same problem as us, incredibly talented players with a beyond average manager.

I dunno, I mean I'm not a massive fan of Martinez but if you look at their team, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Hazard on the way down and no Dembele now - they're considerably weaker than before.

It kind of feels like their golden generation is coming to an end.

Unfortunately that’s not how I deal with things. If @SpursTillIDie1882 doesn't want a socially distanced fist fight on the corner pin, I win the argument imo.

Its because you have nothing to reach around too, smooth as as a GI Joe toy..... lol ok Do want a gold star with your self proclaimed win? hahah

Agree to some extent, but think Maguire is a big problem. His positioning and quickness to read threats is really suspect.

Plus neither of our WBs, despite Trippier playing left, is very good defensively.

I think Walker (who I like as the pacy sweeper), Dier and a good left footer would be an excellent back three for England. Maguire won so many plaudits in 2018 but the hype has gone, we certainly can't play both him and Dier, it's either or (or neither) as things are now.

Fix the back three and have one solid DM (two like today is overcompensating) and it shouldn't be a problem if your full backs, i.e. Trent and Chilwell, aren't great defenders.

Belgium must be wondering how they’ve not won that game.
Why?
They had some chances but, on the balance of decent chances created, it was probably an even game.

I was kind of derisory about the selection, but sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say well done.
He picked a team to get a job done. It wasn't pretty, but so what? We just beat the World No1 in a game that was, imo, fairly evenly matched. They were more fluid, but it wasn't a smash and grab by any stretch. Had Kane and Rashford finished what were pretty Gilt edged chances, we could have had 4, so we edged a fairly evenly fought contest.

Well done England and Gareth.
