Know this may have been covered but why is he being allowed to leave.

Some have mentioned not in conte plans, but why is that.

Trying to balance out thinking that he's god with some realism too.

Not every player works at every club with every manager. Look at the Toby that Athletico thought they were selling for £11m compared to the one we got!

From what I understand, he doesn't cope well being in a 3 at the back/executing a high line. On evidence yesterday, even some of the best CBs get caught out (repeatedly) by a high line. As we dont play a high line under mourinho, he should fit in perfectly

I'd be wary of any and all articles and tweets today especially. Majority will want to create the drama for deadline day. The will they/won't they right up until 11pm and then the deals that maybe announced after that. Don't stress about any of it.

Not an immensely necessity to get him in all honesty, but if we do, we are well and truly covered in all positions to fire on all fronts this season and may win something finally.

I don't see how anyone can look at our complete inability to keep clean sheets (nine games in a row without one - think we've only had about three in all competitions since the City game at the start of February), and think our defence is good enough.

We played some brilliant counter-attacking football yesterday, but a savvier, better organised side should have been able to beat us after we threw a goal away in the opening minutes. We can talk about how our "mentality" got us back into the game after the early setback until the cows come home, but how many times have we dropped points over the years against these annoying teams that nick a goal off a defensive mistake and then put 10 men behind the ball to which we have no answer. We need to cut out those situations and I don't see Dier, Sanchez, an ageing Toby and a still raw Tanganga as good enough to do that on their own.

The top class CB is the missing piece of the puzzle that we desperately need. Ideally a top class Eriksen replacement too but without shifting Alli I think that would be a struggle.

A lot of them will also be playing the percentage game, going for the more obvious option even if they don't know anything. That way anything that does come in people don't look at the media saying you were wrong as they're happy

It's why I stopped watching SSN deadline day, purely because it's a show to them to get ratings (see Jim White). Though I do feel for the guys standing at training grounds and stadiums throughout the day. I'll just check here for us, and their confirmed transfers for other clubs.

The Athletic are saying it's not happening and we'll continue to monitor ahead of the January transfer window ?
We wont be signing him in January. He'll improve his form and impress Conte or Conte will get sacked and he'll be in favour. Or Inter won't sell because its January etc.

This is the time. Now or never.

One mistake v United yesterday, we recovered and didn't exactly seem troubled even before the red. One goal v Chelsea, again didn't look troubled otherwise. One extremely controversial penalty v Newcastle, other than that they pretty much had nothing. While we're not getting the clean sheets, our defence isn't as poor as people want to believe. Watch the 90 minutes and see the vast difference from last season to now.

It's very nice going into a deadline day knowing we have done exceptional business even if we don't get Skriniar.

If we do, it would be a great bonus but if we don't, we have still had one of the best windows we have ever had.

The Athletic aren’t the best with transfer stuff unless it’s an ‘exclusive’. Even then it can be patchy, with Reguilon being on they did nail. They get their info straight from the club and are essentially a mouthpiece.

Not saying we’ll sign him but this approach is more likely to get Inter to blink first

Far from the price dropping on deadline day as they want to sell, isn't it more likely to increase/hold as they are now inconvienced by losing a player that will need replacing with hours to go?

Sadly, I can't see this one happening, and it's a damn shame.
