So it seems like once again an opportunity has presented itself to us in the form of Skrinar and the club is pouncing on it, which is great news.

It is a shame Milik isn't the ST option, but the club must be confident players will become available in the next couple of weeks.

Because Škriniar is awesome CB and we are in talks with him. Also we need another striker and it looks like it won't be Weghorst or Milik and we are getting same old "nobody wants to join because of Kane" like last season.

I can see us eventually going for Diallo, he wants to come and is cheap, probably our fall back option, but with the addition of Bale, it makes sense to go big on a first team CB, and a cheaper ST, the ST is really for back up and rotation. We actually have to improve our defence

If we sign him and Diallo (I'd even take Deeney if it meant getting Skriniar or Dias) I'm going to be so pissed off at having nothing to be pissed off at.

Promising news although I suspect we won't see much movement just yet. Seems we need to move a few out. I wonder if we could interest Inter in Dele or Sissoko.

Getting in a player comfortable at LCB is very welcome as I feel both Toby and Sanchez play better at RCB. Dier just can't seem to shake his mistakes in a 2CB setup and I'm losing patience in that project, despite Dier's good physical and mental attributes.

Getting in a long term Jose target to play that LCB role could really improve us and Skriniar is very highly rated.

I don't doubt that the club is good with its finances but I am concerned about them spending a lot of money with covid cases rising again across Europe. It seems almost inevitable that competitions will be paused again, or worse, at some point in the not too distant future. Hopefully they don't overplay their hand with the potential for cashflow to be non-existent. We need to sell a few players for sure

I think a real big struggle is still the HG topic.

As of now I think there is no room for any new acquisation and that won't really change with Foyth out?

I'm sure considering how pragmatic Levy is he would've forecasted that and this is factored into our transfer spending. I also think this money will be accounted for completely separately to the overall running of the club.

We have a ridiculously good BoE loan for every day running of the club that is helping us tick over.

This would be a cracking signing and I think Jose would move to a central back 3 and let the wingbacks create. This fella is very aggressive but seems to time his challenges well.

As for the striker, I feel we have the firepower but just need a hold up man, I’m sure Diallo could do a job.

I wouldn’t worry, it’s Daniel Levy, there is absolutely no way we are spending money that we don’t have.

As far as I understand, if we sign a foreign CB and Striker, we'll need to sell/loan 3 foreign players (probs Gazzaniga, Foyth, Aurier). We already definitely need to sell/loan one because of Reguilon I think.

They'll surely all go if they know they're not going be in the squad.

Levy being linked with a €60m transfer after spending €30m on Reguilon and breaking our wage structure for Bale

I think we haven't registered Foyth in Europe in order to have space for Sergio?
In England we have Davies and Dier(?) as additional HG options were it is not affected yet I guess.

But as we hear nothing regarding selling Serge and/or Gazza, it seems a bit complicated right now. Especially as selling these would mean we have new wholes to plug. Even though I would be fine with replacing them with average English quality like Adam Smith and someone like Foster....

With 12 days to go I wonder if the club are confident on it...

The striker situation feels different as I think we have many options and should not get the result we want from clubs not willing to accept loans or reduced fees then I imagine we'll just go for Diallo.

Whereas the CB situation seems more challenging, we aren't getting a better CB then we currently have on the cheap. Therefore we go in hard for Skriniar or Dias and spend a bit.
