What have you seen since he's come in that makes you believe we will overtake one of Chelsea or Utd?
Both sides got 66 points so by that logic if we can up our game and get into the low 70s, which in a normal season should be achievable, we should have more than a fair chance.

I'm not convinced by Chelsea. Amazing attacking arsenal but can't defend for toffee yet all of their signings are in attack?

Things change every season though. We never envisaged the wheels falling off Chelsea, Man U or Liverpool when they first dropped out of the top 4 but it happened. And it now happens on a regular basis. Even Man city have a wobble some seasons.
Next season will not be the same as this season. Might be fking worse lol. Point being we dont know. I didn't have Leicester down as top 4 let alone winning the bloody thing.
Lets wait and see what happens before writing off next season before its even started yeah?

Ah I see the folk who went missing when we won have reappeared - 1-1 draw, with an hours worth of poor football, and they're back ... Some of you are literally here to only moan - shame you couldn't enjoy the games we won ...

14 from 18 ... European football achieved - Europa League isn't ideal, I 'd agree - but we're in Europe - wonder about some who post on here lately.

I hope these fans stay well clear of the stadium when we are allowed back in. Their negativity and moaning is part of the problem. We only want people in the stadium to help the team forward.

All you moaners do realize if we won the match we’d be in the same position on the table, right?

We got what we needed from the match. Now it’s time for the boys to recharge the batteries, Daniel to hopefully make some moves in the market and for us all to get a fresh restart next season. COYS.

We were 7 points off. We didn't bottle it in the slightest. We'd only dropped 9 points from the restart - we'd have needed 8 wins and a draw from 9 games to pull it off! We were just way, way too far by the time Poch got sacked for it to be realistic - while we occasionally pulled close-ish other teams were inevitably going to have good runs of forms themselves.

What about the games before the corona break? Since the restart we have been better and come back way stronger.

We'll have to see who they sign but both clubs have a lot more money than us, so we'll find it very tough next season I think

I really can’t see it especially with the players we’ve been linked with so far. It’s real quality we need not just numbers. I’m hoping he’ll integrate Ndombele or at least commit one way or the other with him. Counter attacking football can be effective but you also need to be able to control possession and territory in periods of the game, were so far off that.

I think the concerns are valid, only a few games ago after Bournemouth it seemed the majority wanted him out or at least didn’t see a way forward with him. It’s the wild swings in opinion that aren’t great. The same issues at Bournemouth we’re in evidence today. In the last few games going by our xg we’ve been very clinical with the chances we have made and the opposition have been profligate with theirs. we need to do some serious business over the summer.

We do need some astute signings, no doubt about it.

But we're looking a lot better defensively and that's where you need to start when making big changes to a team.

With the right additions we'll be a lot stronger next season.

Got a lot of work to do before the start of the next season.

Unfortunately it's rebuilding the spin of the team...
If it's spine then you look at
Lloris
Sanchez/Dier & Toby
Sissoko & Winks
Kane

The spine is actually our strongest aspect bar the glaringly obvious central midfield options so it's clear where focus is to be business wise.

Transfer window hasn't even opened yet. Wouldn't be at all surprised if Chelsea splurged a load more dosh with FFP effectively in the bin for the time being at least.

Chelsea are very poor at the back, and if that continues into next season I think we'll be above them. No matter how many great forward options they have if you can't defend well you'll leak more goals than you should which means dropped points.

United will probably kick on from this season but I expect us to as well. I see us competing with them and Chelsea for top 4..

Work still needs to be done at CB.
CM needs an overhaul

Cool...Well lets see who we sign. It'll have huge bearing on how we do next season as I don't think Sissoko and Winks can cut it as starters again next season

There is absolutely no chance he lasts 3 more seasons. Unless you mean the mess he'll leave us in once he leaves.
What mess exactly?

Did he leave Inter with a mess?
Did he leave Chelsea in a mess? Even though they went on to win the league the following season (and implode again the year after under Conte)
Did he leave Madrid in a mess? Or did they win the CL the following season.

He doesn't leave clubs "in a mess" his position just becomes untenable either because he falls out with the board or some players stop playing for him.

He lost the players in his last three jobs but the board still liked him (United excluded). None of those clubs had a mess in their squad.

He left Inter because he achieved everything and he helped create a real family atmosphere between every one in the club. I've heard that first hand from one of his ex-players.

He left Chelsea first time because Abramovich was imposing himself and telling Jose how to play, to which Jose had enough.

When things go sour with him at the club, we'll move on quickly and I'm sure the squad will be fine.

Finally, you want to know what a mess is?

The one Jose inherited. A team who hadn't won away since January, a team who were in relegation form, a squad of players who were on their feet from the years of high intensity pressing and same old training methods, players who'd been replaced by inferior options and a complete lack of morale.

That's not a bash at Poch. It's to prove that all teams are left in a 'bad' condition when a coach leaves.
