I’m giving us about a 30% chance of top 4 next season. The one I’m slightly more optimistic about is the Europa (if we qualify) which is much better as you get CL and a nice shiny trophy.
Through the entire Jose experiment, and all the injuries and toxic atmosphere we're on top 4 form. I'm feeling like we should make top 4 next season, I just want to see how much further we can kick on.

I wouldn’t get my hopes up, mate. Our defence and midfield still need sorting out and I’m not overly optimistic that we’ll even address half the areas we need to this window. Hope you’re right, obviously, but I’m not letting a couple of wins make me forget that we still need a rebuild.

Clearly there has been improvement and he is starting to put his own touch on the team. I still worry that with the style we are playing if we don't click or if it's "one of those days" we are going to see more games like the Bournemouth one than the Leicester one.

Hopefully we can strengthen in midfield a bit to give us some control of games. I think counter attacking works (Leicester won the league this way) but there are so many defensive teams in the league we need a plan for when teams sit back against us.

Top 4 will be very hard next season as Chelsea and Man C will both spend significantly this summer to close the gap on Liverpool. Without significant investment we will be competing with Man U, Arsenal, Wolves, Leicester etc. for the last CL spot.

I'm an optimistic, sure, but it's backed up by data. This run off games is a fabulous warm up for the new season.

Clear exciting tactics. Players passing aggressively into channels, even Winks.

Lloris looking solid again. We need more to challenge for top 3 and any more than that, but with Jose I think we'll continue in this solid vein.

I'm extremely confident that Jose will get us Top 4 next season.

It's whether we can challenge for the title or not is the big question.

On the one hand, you've go teams like City and Liverpool that seem miles ahead. But on the other hand, we competed well with those teams in individual games this season. Also, both teams' hunger to win again will also be scrutinised next season. Do they have the desire to battle for 8 gruelling months for something they've already won?

Interesting times.
You wonder whether Liverpool may have peaked this season and if the hunger will be there again? City still need to get a settled defence and have dropped, for them, a lot more points this season than for some time. We'll be closer to both next season.

Liverpool absolutely peaked this season. The fact that they were so far ahead of everybody else is as much down to the rest of the league being poor and Liverpool's luck as it was their actually quality. They'll still be title challengers next season, and probably favourites, but it'll be much closer.

Chelsea will be better going forward but if they don't improve their defence they're going nowhere fast.

My concern is that once Dele is back in the picture we'll revert back to 2 in midfield and we'll struggle to get the level of control we've had recently. If we're going to play this low block style we need to be very good at covering the gaps defensively and winning the ball back which we simply didn't do with 2 in CM.

I honestly don't understand this obsession with "investment". If they get as much back for that money as we have with the likes of N'Dombele and Sessegnon then by all means. Not saying I don't want better players, but rarely can you just buy points that easily.

We got very average full backs and unless N'Dombele can stop eating pizza and maybe get some luck injury-wise we haven't got that one guy in midfield, but apart from that I think our squad is very decent. And I could see us getting a lot more out of a couple of players like Alli, Winks, Lo Celso etc. come next season. Not to mention the injuries we had this year.

Points per game under Mourinho would be close to comparable to 70 if we win against CP. This squad with a fit N'Dombele and slightly less injuries (we will always get injuries) would easily have the potential to reach 80+.

Maybe it is confirmation bias, but it also seem to me that the team is settling in with Mourinho now. We just look different. To me we looked really committed to playing deep at home against Leicester. That is a very very good sign.

I'm more optimistic. I think Mourinho is clever enough to find away for that to work as well. He is more pragmatic than for example Pochettino when it comes to these things.

Mourinho is looking for a squad that can adapt to situations. To me Alli adapting to playing different roles isn't an issue. His inconsistency is. And if Mourinho can get Aurier to look average defensively I am sure he can teach Alli to be solid enough to play deeper when needed.

I think top six is feasible top four might take another year or so, I would be happy with finishing 5th but winning Europa.

imo the key is to get a really good creative midfielder who can provide the link between our vastly improved defence and our awesomely talented front players

No problem with counter attacking football but we need to improve on playing out from the back through midfield. The amount of panicked skewed clearances and hospital passes will catch up with us in the end. We need more composure and technique in midfield especially. If Ndombele’s not part of the future we need two central midfielders who can at least put their foot on the ball under pressure.
