Yes we are all pissed off, with that performance, with the tactics, with the result, with losing to that lot.

And yes, we all have a right to be to let our emotions out. And bashing the manager (because he constructs the strategy and tactics isn’t it) is par for the course.

Yet, the following is “right” too.

1. we have had knackered players who have had to play 90 mins in all matches recently. Lucas, Stevie, Toby, Aurier before today, Winks

2. we have had players who are not 100%, just back from injury, didn’t train fully, not match fit basically - Lamela, GLC, Tanguy, Davies

3. our team has not been settled yet, so the fluidity of DESK during peak poch cannot be expected here. They have barely trained together much, let alone played in matches tI think this was the first or second time that Winks n GLC n Tanguy started together. SB and Lucas playing in unfamiliar roles (at least not their usual week in week out positions) so there’s bound to be lack of chemistry!

We are not going to stupidly play a gung ho high press aggressive attacking game in such situations, are we? Especially risking more muscle injuries.

It’s quite clear what we are trying to do, we are trying to SURVIVE first and foremost and then, try to hurt the opponent with the few strengths we have left in our armoury > speed, individual brilliance, set pieces, Dele

But Dele is out of form. And players are entitled to not be pulling out 7/8/9’s week in week out; I rem John McDermott saying that if a player can play a 7 or more 66% of the time when they are on the pitch, they’d be a success already. The TOP TOP TOP players are those who can pull out 9’s and 10’s with consistency. Dele isn’t there yet.

And we tried to create via little 10-15m short crisp passing to by pass their midfield with no outlet on the wings today, and almost got through a few times, if not for a lack of finesse and quality here and there.

Today was such a scrappy game, Those of you who have played before know that fatigue is the primary cause for your touches and passing to go haywire. Toby and Stevie B had to be subbed out today to protect them from breaking down.

So yes, you are right, the tactics suck. The Football suck. We would all have wanted to see more fight in a derby. More desire. But honestly, how could we have done better given all those circumstances above?

To expect more given current circumstances is futile. But we march on. We fight on. We make do. And we give the team our support.
Why all the excuses, it doesn't make up for the backward looking tactics, hit and hop gutless performances we have to watch every match, well at least the first half. Anybody turns us over these days. We scrape wins, lucky wins, witness Mcity, Norwich and Saints...... longer list supplied if required.

This was some shit by our man today - and Wednesday.

We don’t have any identity or style of play. Do we do any training with the ball or is that extra on top of the £15m.

Still supportive but for fuck sake - my eyes are still hurting

I think you are falling for jose' s standard trick - lowering the expectations of his team, multiple excuses, diverting attention from what happens on the pitch. Yes we are missing two great forwards but it's no excuse for how we are playing. If we had started Ali Bergwin and Moura as the front three today would it have been any worse than Barkley Giroud and mount ?
Di we not against Leipzig? And how bad was Dele?

Has it not occurred that Lucas and Bergwijn could really be very tired from playing two games in 3 days?

I fully appreciate everyone should have their own opinion but I struggle with those tripping over each other to make excuses for Jose recently. Yes its not 'his team', yes he doesn't have a recognised top CF but Jesus Christ this is awful to watch. Not just aesthetically but energy, heart, fight... to me its just not what it should be.

Yes we've had a few good results under Jose but my God some luck as well as well. In the first weeks we were winning crazy games where we had to score 3/4 to win. Wolves battered us but we scrapped a win. City (lets be honest) battered us but we hung in there and got a win. Norwich/Soton away we were woeful. Chelsea, Liverpool, Leipzig at home we set up like a minnow team away from home. Today we set up not to concede from the start but still gave them 17 shots on target..!

Give him time for sure as what choice do we have but can we please at least acknowledge we've been pretty turgid under Jose, he's not proven himself yet and this is not what "To Dare is to Do" is about.

Edit: God that feels better

Jose just said he is proud of the boys and they fought to the end for a result. He must have been watching a rerun from 3 years ago as there was nothing to be proud of today and I saw very little evidence of fighting for a result.

He can't do much with that shower. Average/poor players in winks and davies in key positions as first choice, a kid at rb because our first choice is a lunatic, an ageing defence with the finished vertonghen (sad to see because he has been great) and no striker, I genuinely do not see where the goals are coming from and we have a leaky defence. This is not Jose fault, give him funds levy to do what you should of allowed poch to do. This squad is mainly finished and a massive rebuild is needed, 5 players minimum and a lot of dead wood needs shifting, are you up to it Daniel?

Mourhino might be a winner but has he had his day. If I was Levy I'd be looking right now for a replacement and thanks Jose and goodbye in May.

FortWorth you disagree so you believe we should be proud of that performance. Respect your opinion but find it hard to believe any one here would be proud of what we saw

the injuries don't help but people are kidding themselves if they think that's all it is. you could give jose city's squad and it wouldn't be long until they're playing beta cuck football.

This is it. We have enough ball players in midfield to offer more than we are seeing. Starting match after match so passively and expecting to Nick a victory is asking for trouble. Even when Son and Kane were starting it was the same reactive tactics. This is Jose-ball.

People know how well we could have lost many of those games there yet we manged to get some results instead.

What would have been preferred? To lose those games just to be proven right?

Are we really entitled to watch the scintillating Spurs 3 years ago considering our situation this season?

It could be half-glass empty, but it could also be half-glass full.

I think most of them did the best they could under very trying circumstances. Ndombele being the exception. I also think this is going to be the basic tactic for the rest of the season. You play the hand you are dealt.

Can't do much with a team of international level players... are you sure about that?

Teams with half the quality we have in our squad have been turning Chelsea over all season. Or at least setting out to play them at football not just rolling over and playing negative from the first minute.

The answer is always buy more shiny new players right.
