Refreshing that he’s going to straight away put a new signing in the squad and possibly play them, that’s what signings are for, players want to play it doesn’t always need to be overcomplicated by letting them adapt to a new league or country or teammates or style of play or fitness blah blah, if you sign a player and think they’re good enough for you then unless they’re coming back from a bad injury or the team is on fire and you don’t want to change it then just bloody play them.

Football is a simple game easily over complicated.

Would also send a msg to any underperforming players to buckle up or risk being dropped.

I would honestly love to see some faith in Skipp. Get some activity in midfield again, someone that will at least badger players in midfield and not make it feel like such a void/easy route of passage. Every time he’s played he has at least been quick to close players down, make things just a tad more difficult.

We don’t appear to be signing a defensive midfielder this window, so I think the best we can hope for is installing a midfield that at least offers some sort of resistance to our opponents.

I think we are starting to see more and more signs of Jose getting these players to find some confidence. Sessegnon, Tanganga, Lo Celso, Lamela, Toby, etc. I’m still not sure what the future holds for players like Dier, Vertonghen, Gazzaniga and to a lesser extent Dele. Guess time will tell.
If we don't get a DM I would go with 2 from Winks, Ndombele, Gedson and Skipp every week. All have the energy and seemingly technical ability to play in a CM 2.

Potentially could pan out to be a great transfer window with CE going alone.

Theres a sense of the unknown with Jose that complements greatness/arrogance and for once I feel we have someone at the helm that Levy will have to potentially listen to.

Whilst no way the same as Harry leaning out the Rover, I look forward to deadline day with great anticipation!

It's one of the more ridiculous things from Poch's tenure. No idea how a player is going to adapt if you literally don't give them the competitive match practice in the league.

I think after the initial assessment of him Mourinho would have played Ndombele in pretty much every game if it wasn't for his fitness. He's said himself that injuries are affecting his adaptation and he's spot on, precisely because he isn't playing Premier League matches. It's the most important factor by far over language, culture and friends.

Huh? Are you suggesting it was a (common and ridiculous) trait of Pochettino NOT to play his signings early enough?

So... what exactly are you basing this on? Toby? Wanyama? NDombele who started and played 90 minutes in the first game this season?

Moura who got game time very soon after his January signing?

I guess what I'm asking is: what BIG money signing made under Pochettino didn't get the gametime that makes you say it was "a ridiculous thing" from his tenure?

Lo Celso got injured on International duty so that doesn't count. So who else? Rather baffled to be honest

Starting to believe all these reports about Mou wanting another CB and sadly I don't think it's to replace Foyth or Vertonghen. Sanchez gives me so much heartburn and I can only wonder how Mou must feel about him. Against Pool I thought maybe he'd taken a step forward. After that horror show against Boro I'm wondering if it's always going to be a step forward and a step back with Sanchez. I thought he could be properly taught the kind of situational intelligence and composure needed to dominate in the air. It just doesn't seem to be happening. I thought maybe the competition was dragging him down, but I think it's just that he's just a liability in the air, plain and simple, and that liability gets exposed more often against lower level competition. If he can't be relied upon in the middle of a back three to win in the air, then his only role is going to be on the outside of the back three covering the channel and his lack of ball handling ability is unfortunately a big liability in that role as well. I don't think he fits Mou's system and that's a problem.

He's one of 3/4 youngest cbs in the league every week

Don't forget Sanchez, pretty much played every game his first season.

Yeah - there seems to be an awful lot of absurd revisionism going on about Poch's tenure going around. I wouldn't mind it if it had any basis in fact.

I’m glad he came out with the quote today that we need a striker, will be an absolute travesty if we fail to acquire one, no excuses at all

His press conferences are a breath of fresh air in comparison to poch. Open about tactics, signings, players literally everything. Communication for the fans is brilliant. If he was linked with the United job like Poch was last year he’d of just flat out quashed it and it would of been a non starter

Jose using the media to put pressure on Levy for first time really with these quotes.

The media tries to interpret everything Jose says as being agenda driven which I don't buy but think this one is clear.

We all knew this would come, using his press conferences to send messages to Levy, but il be honest I didn't think it would happen this quickly.
This is what Levy has signed up to so going to be very interesting how he handles this.

While he is absolutely correct that we need a striker. It would be nice for to include an actual striker ( Parrott) in his match day plans more. Tanganga shows once again that sometimes you just have to take a risk on youth

I heard that Parrott has been injured, so he can't include him in match day squads, can he?

Couldn't agree more mate. I think Parrott is being used in Jose's game with Levy so unfortunately for him it'll mean no opportunity until window is closed I reckon. Going to be a long two weeks isn't it.
