From the first 3 minutes, the tone was there to see. Low work rate, movement non existent... Much of the same we saw under Poch at home.

Jose looked livid, he'll lay into them I'm sure.

Pretty shit, but I genuinely think there are some positives in there. We're clearly making more first time balls and trying to move the ball quicker than we did under Poch. Problem is the players aren't so used to it and are misplacing easy passes that leave us vulnerable, while we look dodgy as fuck on the defensive transitions.

Definitely a work in progress.
You can't be watching the same game as me. It looks like the same old terrible defending and lack of ideas in midfield. If it's a work in progress then there is a long way to go.

Eriksen looks like he's more up for this tonight.
Are you joking?! He's not been on long and he's been woeful. Has pretty much given the ball away at every opportunity. I honestly don't know why the fuck Jose has even brought him on, bring Ndombele or Lo Celso on instead.

Had to stay home with the kids tonight so missing the game live. some might say "lucky" because that was the worst full half of football by a Spurs side since AVB.

Firstly - this can't be blamed on Mourinho who has to be given time to find his best Spurs team.

Secondly - this shows what Pochettino was dealing with before he was sacked.

Thirdly - this shows just how stupid it is to overreact negatively to managers AND to overreact positively to new managers. The ingredients are the problem; not the chef.

Poch knew this and was taking steps. Mourinho will also learn this and take steps.

I'll say again - Winks has been slagged repeatedly in this thread by the good denizens of SC. He is still the only player on the pitch for Spurs who LOOKS like winning a ball back in midfield. This is a massive problem. We are getting absolutely mauled in the fight by an Olympiakos team who have payed us off the pitch in every single facet of the game.

Interesting second half coming up. Hopefully Jose finds a way to get them back into the fight. COYS!

Yeah, we just aren’t very good anymore are we. Out worked, out passed, out muscled. Maybe dropping in to the ropey league wouldn’t be the worst idea anyway.

And one last thing Lucas Moura has to be our most overrated player. Most of the times when he starts you forget he’s on the pitch, he’s much better when he comes on from the bench

Aside from the second half against Bayern, that was as bad as anything we've had this season. It makes some of the cringe worthy posts after the West Ham game even more cringey .It's not surprising some of the players who have been inconsistent for over a year aren't playing well. But the lack of our defensive shape is concerning. The front four look like they're chasing shadows. Son's been the only one with a bit of discipline. I don't think we can afford to play Lucas and Son in a four man midfield defensively. Offensively we're very static. Lucas and Alli are the keys to this formation and they aren't occupying the space between full-back and centre-back enough. Our movement from crosses remains terrible.

Amidst all of the crapness, Sanchez has been excellent. Gets a lot of stick on here but he’s kept us in the game with his recovery anticipation/pace.

yep. The one player having a decent game. Has to work twice as hard with Serge next to him

Vertonghen on for Rose is the best shout of the evening.
Sanchez actually isn't bad. He just doesn't fit in a ball playing out from back system.
