Bit at the end was amusing after it ended and Simon Felstein said it’s time for the print broadcasters. He says “let’s do it outside, it’s too busy in here” with distain in his voice and gets up to walk out with Mourinho scurrying behind him. Just made me smile, zero fucks give about the circus.

The bloke on the right looks like Billy the Sparks from DIY SOS. I know he's a Spurs fan but surely Jose could have done better. :sneaky:

That was simply a fantastic press conference.

- respectful, confident, humourous, charismatic, inspirational, ambitious, belief, self awareness....

Had everything.

Yeah I don’t think anyone can fail to be impressed.

Looks like they are having fun anyway!

I hope he got all those players to warm up their facial muscles properly before all that laughing and smiling. They haven't used those muscles for months and the last thing we need is half the squad out with 'smile related injuries' v West Ham.

What is exciting is how much he must be relishing this opportunity. For Mourinho right now this is his dream job. And I don't mean in terms of what was realistically available, I mean if he could literally create his ideal job it would be Spurs right now. His home is London, and he can actually be based with his family. We have the best stadium in the world, we have the best infrastructure and training ground. He has an incredible squad with potentially the best no 9 he will have worked with, and Drogba was no slouch. Thanks to the stadium, the champions league final and then the sudden firing of a beloved manager, we are enjoying more global media coverage than ever before, not to mention being in the middle of what will be a very interesting Amazon documentary. And we haven't won a damn thing in decades. The Special One had fallen, had lost his edge, was yesterday's news. He covets his image, his reputation and that would have really hurt. If he turns this around, if he wins a major trophy with Spurs, especially without spending a fortune, can you imagine what that will do to cement his legacy as one of the truly greatest of all time? He certainly can, and that's why I am excited.

I can see him and Kane getting on really well. Both are perfectionists and both have the same mentality.
This is the thing though. I imagine quite a lot of players will get on well with him. Poch is all about the team being a family, but with time fustrations began to show. Mou is all about mentality. Generally speaking this mentality is very hard to hold onto for more than a few seasons. It´s too intense and eventually leads to choas. But the first few years Mou knows how to get the most out of his players.

Both Mou and Poch are probably not built to last long in a club. What I felt with Poch is if you get him you get his team. He never looked to bring coaching staff from the outside. Ferguson did so all the time and it was vital to his success, most managers who last a long time do. Without new energy and ideas it is very difficult to refresh a squad without a complete rebuild. I feel that if Poch decided to bring in some new coaching energy, or some help he would still be in a job.

I may be completely mistaken here, but is the geezer on the left the old fitness coach whom was replaced by Poch’s son?

Haven’t seen him around the club or match day squad for ages

Ok I wasn't a fan of bringing in Jose. I still think he will most likely leave us worse than he found us but so far he is saying all the right things and is being humble. Hopefully he's a learned something. Just hope he buys better than the dross he bought at ManU.

Great press conference. I'll be the first to admit I wasn't a fan of him and what I've seen and heard him say, but now he's ours and that suits me fine.

This is still so surreal for me, this is a guy who I've grown up hating, criticising, laughing at, despising his managerial style, called him every swear word under the sun and was adamant that he'd never be a Spurs manager to actually being enchanted by him and having a man crush and believing that he's gonna bring us joy and win us some titles over the next few years, it's just utterley bizarre.

Imagine if this game was late kick off. Sunday.

I'm exhausted already.
