I think we should exit all competitions and focus on the league we looked so bad in this game I am worried about top 4 finish

I went today and left at around 70 mins at 4-2 (not angry just didn’t want to get home at 12:30-1am again!)

When I was there, I thought the crowd were really good so well done to the fans who went.

I think Majtip and Van Dijk might take issue with your statement.

You know what I mean, season before last they certainly were.

I'd still take them over the Liverpool duo, but we all know 'issues' behind the scenes have affected performances for ages now.

When you let them stroll into the box and give them as much time as they need then is it any surprise that they score?
We were dogshit, I'm not saying we weren't. But Bayern were also unbelievably clinical. Here's what the xG map was at halftime:

EF0V6uAXUAEC8DY

So we gave up ~1.5 xG in the second half, which is reflective of really poor defending. But any time a team outscores its xG by five it requires a rare bit of clinical finishing. I know everyone's understandably upset about the result but that kneejerk emotion shouldn't cloud our judgment as to the quality of Bayern's finishing.

Think you’re right, levy is probably chatting to mourinho as we speak
I think for the first time I would welcome it. He could do well here. Get things organised and DEMAND investment. He also knows how to get rid of dead wood. Plus he is still a bigger draw than Poch and is a winner.

Poch has really fucked himself. 8 million a year and he talks about leaving? Only himself to blame.

True, but maybe easier with one player as opposed to about 5. Don't know why I'm trying to defend Poch though, his tactics and the way he has been setting us up has been annoying me no end lately.

Poch is an incredible manager and if he were to leave I have no doubt he'd be an instant success wherever he goes. To me this is similar to Klopps last season at Dortmund where he almost had them relegated.
I just think his heart isn't in it anymore. The passion that he always used to speak of isn't there.

There is no going back from where we are as far as Poch is concerned.

Will sacking him fix all the issues? No.

Can they be fixed while he’s still here? Also no.

Levy won't sack Poch because it'll cost the club £25m to pay off his contract. And then replace him with another manager on a similar wage.

On top of that, ENIC are looking at a complete writedown (i.e. to zero) on the values of Eriksen, Verts and Toby at the end of this season.

That will be Levy's primary concern. But if Madrid or anyone else came in for Poch and were willing to pay any degree of financial compensation, then I think he'd bite their hand off.

Otherwise, the only way this ends is if Poch and him come to some form of mutual agreement in the summer.

That's the (unfortunate) reality.
Pay the £25million and it will be money well spent. That is the fortunate reality if done now, before more collateral comes our way.

This has been coming, we’ve defended awfully for ages, we could and should’ve let in 10 away to Man City earlier this season. Something is very wrong.

Here’s my take - Bayern were absolutely ruthless tonight, no doubt. Come the away leg Poch will still be in charge and we’ll
win in Munich!

Yeah I have every faith in this too, given that we’ve been complete shit for a year.

Oh wait

That City game was telling wasn't it. Yes they're a good team but the way we defended and passed the ball in that game was not the sign of a team going positive places.

I think it's a mix between Poch's bad tactics and key players wanting out which has given us what we're seeing now.

He's not. He's being sarcastic because everyone who has been saying this for awhile gets called knee jerk when its obvious to anyone who watches this week in week out that something hasn't been right for over a year now.

Ah, sorry. My bad.
