There is not one fan that I’ve spoken to that can understand where the high press has gone from our best season ffs. Is this down to injuries?? City and Liverpool do it. We pretty much started the trend in the prem then have totally just fucked it off. Why? Fucking why? Why stop a winning formula? Poch is trying to be too clever and he is gonna lose everything. Maybe a new manager will mean Toby and Eriksen will sign up. Nothing lasts forever. I can’t see him putting things right, it’s been a good 6 months in the league now.

I left at 5-2, i just couldnt face it anymore by the time i was at the bottom of the stairs i heard 7 - 2 from one fan behind me. I laughed but didnt think anything of it, heard a minute later 7-2 again from someone else... this made me check on google 7 fucking 2... how the fuck does that happen

The only thing ill say is that we are still in the hunt to finish second in the group. Just need to beat Olympiakos and the other team at home and get something away... Bayern will blow the other two away

That's fair, exceptionally poor defending and goalkeeping once the chance is on can just as easily contribute to the chance being converted as exceptionally good finishing. There's no doubt we capitulated, but there's also little doubt that Bayern were clinical, is all I'm saying.

I think they took what was offered to them, certainly. We're certainly the type of team to offer that, rather than take it, which is what is most frustrating. They didn't play like City though, and somehow got the score line City deserved.

The team captain? Stands between the white posts. Occasionally stops the ball.

And does fuck all to motivate his team mates!

When each of the Bayern goals went in during the second half. All Lloris did was shrug his shoulders and shuffled his feet and stared at the ground. A captain should be trying to pick the team up!

Come on in @Archibald&Crooks and join the party, won't you? I know we're not allowed long, ranty Beece tomes in a Match Ratings thread any more, but if you're not going to pitch into a Match Thread with something - calling out kneejerkers/pointing out the length of the Match Thread when we win vs when we lose/getting in some sweet barbs to wind up the BSoDL - on a night like tonight then what even is the point of the Spurs Chat forum?

Oh ffs Gnabry did a "North London is red" tweet. What an infuriatingly enjoyable night for Woolwich.

We’ve often laughed at how poor our opponents’ defences are.

If there’s one thing that Bayern has exposed today, it’s that our defence need major upgrading.

We need younger and quicker CBs. We need younger, quicker and more intelligent FBs.
They aren't the problem (well right back is). Trippier looks a world beater at Atletico Madrid, looks good defensively too! It's the way we are set up right now. There is very little midfield cover atm and that is what is costing us. Our defense is way too exposed. If you look at the game, almost all of the goals came from deep positions. The amount of long shots taken with space and time is indicative of a midfield problem.

Fullback positions have, and always will be exposed in how Poch plays. It's normally a sacrifice worth making, however in a diamond formation the balance shifts the wrong way. But what annoyed me today, apart from a very poor show by Aurier, who dealt with difficult circumstances very poorly and seemed to just completely give up at some point, was the space between the lines. There is actually a simple solution to these problems...

Apparently not one player went over to clap the fans, that's unforgivable really.
Fucking cowards but they're right to be ashamed of themselves.
Maybe Poch wanted them straight in, to give them a right royal bollocking.
