All got a bit Brexity in here

It’s possible to hold a centrist opinion - recognise everything Poch’s done, while being concerned at what’s happening.

One doesn’t invalidate the other
So we’re now in realms of ‘Remainers’ and ‘Pexiteers’ ?

Lock this thread. Throw away the key. Burn it with fire. And we'll pretend this never happened.

Yankspurs has been the voice of calm, reasoned, moderation throughout this entire episode.

I am now putting my affairs in order, kissing the kids goodnight and rooting the wife one last time in preparation for the coming apocholypse...

Unless poch goes to Celtic he probably will win nothing.
When we signed Ndombele I was ecstatic, however there was a sudden realisation that now we have to win something. It wasn't a particularly bad feeling or anything but it did make me think "What if after two years we still have no trophies?". Well, I don't think I'd be happy with continuing being the bridesmaids despite all that Poch has done. You would have to start to ask that question.....Is Poch a winner?

Unfortunately you do get some fantastic coaches who just can't get teams over the line, it happens. Im not sure most of us would settle for that, despite the progress.

Poch does deserve the time with the new players but if we don't look like we will evolve or win something soon his days will be numbered. Sadly.

Disagree all you want, this is what the forum is for, it’s the stupid pathetic comments about being bedwetters just because their opinion differs which is ridiculous.

You're not exactly doing your case any favours by bed-wetting about being called a bed-wetter. Not to mention adopting some false sense of victimhood. You are free to say whatever you want (within legal bounds) and others are free to disagree.

Are you suggesting this is not a free and fair forum?

I don’t think a bad performance and getting beaten at Arsenal should be cause for panic either. We haven’t won there since 2010 and last season arrived there the better team and got outplayed.

The performance actually means more than the result to me. I need to see the players wanting to win and attack.

I can even forgive the kind of defensive mistake that Sanchez made on Sunday, because those kind of things happen.

What I can’t stomach, is no fight, no desire, no dragging themselves off the pitch like they’ve given their all, no movement, no incisiveness, no quick passing, no risks, no belief, no playing for one another. Not one of those things was present against Newcastle, if they are all there and we lose 3 2 or something like that, at least I’ll be satisfied the players actually want to be there.

Ndombele was the type of signing that the club has been crying out for but I wonder whether it has come to late for poch, maybe another manager will end up getting the best from him as with the rest of the team.

That goes for the fans at NWHL too mind you.

At least our magnificent away fans will do the business as they always do this Sunday. That might help a bit more than the rancid sullen silence the team copped against Newcastle.

It’s not an excuse, I’m just not sure why everyone’s acting like this is the first season under Poch where we’ve started off slowly. It’s probably a mixture of Poch’s preseason and Levy’s propensity to deal late which means we’re never really settled and firing from the off.
Difference is the benchmark to be I. With a shout of winning a title is ~90 points which can’t avhieve if you start poorly

The fans at home are more concerned with singing in the bars with their beers than on the terraces. I know that because I sit in the south lower every home game and have seen it with my own eyes. People are still queuing up for beers even when the second half has kicked off. I try singing but so many people just don’t bother. I’ve a guy in front of me who just sits on his phone, he couldn’t Sunday though because his wife and son were there. Well, I say they were there, they were there for about 60 minutes of football. The guy and his older son who sit to my right don’t even sing along to “when the spurs go marching in”. It’s not working. I know it was bad at times in the old place but nothing has really changed except it’s a nicer stadium.

So losing control of an entire dressing room is fine to say. But losing control of your bladder is crossing the line? I’ve been educated today.

No, really, I have to get away from this thread.

That's because their not Tottenham players but there is no point in debating this because there are those who have been saying for a while that we are not playing well as the stats clearly prove, and then there are those who simply refuse to accept that there are issues even a 5-0 thrashing from the gooners will probably ellicit a response such as "the player's had a difficult coach ride to the stadium" and all will be covered up again.
It's true we typically start slow under Poch, although last season was good points wise, even if we did lose bad games.

The problem however, is that if we have aspirations of winning titles, we have to come flying out of the traps. The fact that we never do that under Poch is a worry in itself as you have to ask the question "When will we ever start strongly?".

Instead Poch grumbles, says we are far off from where we need to be. Imagine you are a player who wants to win stuff badly and you hear that again. You're going to start to think "Does this guy really believe in us?"

What I can't understand is how can Poch go to Southampton midseason and have them applying this intense pressing game from day 1. Yet with us he needs a preseason and 2 months or so? Yes, things take time and systems need to be worked on but he's essentially working with the same group of players. He could at least have had them pressing hard on Sunday. That's the bear minimum.

That goal came about because we'd dropped deep and let Newcastle come forward with the ball. Watch City or Liverpool at home, no chance they'll let Newcastle do that.

So that stirs the question. Did Poch tell them to drop? Or did they drop as they're no longer listening to him?

Same thing against City, the players were making the same defensive mistakes over and over. If they had the intensity and focus they'd have sorted that out quickly.

Our lack of creativity is a massive issue but our lack of intensity is a fundamental issue.

We only aspire to win titles because of Poch. Everyone giving him shit for not winning anything, we’ve only one trophy in the 18 years that Levy has been running the club so it’s not like he is the reason for a barren run.

Poch needs to start doing his shit and stop playing mind games with Levy through his press conferences. He needs to have it out with Levy if he is really pissed off or disillusioned as it is clearly coming across every time he speaks to the press. Levy has to make it work and if it means he needs to compromise himself then so be it, Poch has earned that right.

If we put in a positive performance and lost by the odd goal, I would actually take that over another poor performance and sneaking a draw.

I want to see improvement on the pitch even if that doesn’t reflect straight away in results.

But it’s because the European transfer window ends after ours and so the squad is not settled.

Well that’s the bs some would like you to believe.

Personally I think Poch needs to mix up some of his coaching staff. Bring in some fresh faces.

This! Would have loved us to try and get Xabi Alonso before he took over Sociedad B.

People need to remember that in the last couple of months, Poch has been sitting down with Ndombele and GLC, selling him them on his vision going forward for the club and developing them as players. He obviously did it well enough to convince them to put their careers in his hands.

Ye he’s done the same with some of you aswell ?.
