What started as such a promising transfer window, really is turning out to be worrying to say the least, I hope come the end of the window Poch will have been backed like promised, but it's hard to be confident when you see the all too familiar set backs we are having.

You may have been discussing this one but I've been observing an historical trend. The point still stands, 1 first team player in 18 months isn't exactly trailblazing is it?

I'm not rating every transfer window because we didn't sign any in last seasons 2. especially as ITK's have said those 2 windows Poch had the money, but he couldn't get his No.1 targets.

Sounds like it was all agreed but Betis have decided they want more at the last minute.

Judgement will be made at the end of the window of course, but many of us have an unwelcome familiar feeling.

I hope for all our sakes Poch is backed by Levy in the next 10 days. We could be embarking on one of the most exciting seasons in our history if Poch is backed properly, alternatively it could be another season of frustration and so close but so far when it comes to winning major trophies and I think if we haven’t spent something like £150 million net by the end of the window, questions of Levy will need to be answered.

Just so everyone knows, I’ve selected this coming Friday as my breakdown panic day if no incomings have gathered pace by then. You’re all welcome to join me.

Previous ITK suggested that there was a deadline for Eriksen to commit. Surely we must be past that point by now?

So wonder if we’re actively trying to shift him so can make room for Dybala.

Regardless of the fact that we smashed our transfer record, its important we add to the squad in other areas, squad depth was an issue last year & that was BEFORE we sold players this window & maybe more to follow.

Considering we're at the stage of the window where information is starting to contradict itself people should be concerned, for all the 'positive' noise it's almost radio silence now.

Not good enough for a club supposedly 'becoming big' with 'big club mentality'.

I still think we are going to get a Lo Celso at a lower fee as we know Betis have to sell him to fund fekir and we are his main target.

If Sessegnon stays at Fulham I wonder if we can sign him on a pre contract in January? Leaving Rose to stay for 1 more year and then he can move on back north.

.....Leaving a bit of extra cash for Dybala..... :sneaky:

Please Levy, back the Argentinian with some Argentinian toys...

No excuse this season then because GLC is 100% attainable, as is Sess. I say 100% but it just seems that way for those two at least.

Nope. Our players have pre season this time around and will make us win things just like they did in previous seasons.
Why need new signing and waste the money like liverpool and city did.

Your post sounds like we haven’t signed anyone and ITK is saying we’re done and aren’t trying to sign anyone else. Both of which are not the case.

I don’t understand why people say they will be happy if Toby and eriksen stay? They leave within 12 months and we receive nothing yet need to replace in summer 2020? That’s a shit trade off for one more season of them both and we know poch stance on players not in it for the long run. If they stay and sign new contracts, I agree that’s fantastic but I’d trade a conservative 65m to see them gone this summer and our club bringing in replacements on long term deals. I sense there’s an inevitability they will both go on the last day of the window and we replace eriksen interpreting itk comments and gut feel.

Can only speak for myself but i've always assumed that if Eriksen stays, then he stays having signed a new contract, otherwise he'll be pushed out the door this summer (as much as we are able to push him of course). Easy enough to interpret some of the delay in pulling the trigger on current 'pending' deals could easily be down to events surrounding Eriksen (staying or going) which will come to a head next week no doubt.

Toby on the other hand makes perfect sense to have him stay another 12 months then let him go on a free if that's what he wants to do, win/win for all concerned imo.

Isn't it common knowledge through itk that NDombele was wanted last summer (and even bid on?) but that we couldn't get him. So we waited. I'd be very surprised to find anyone on here complaining that we didn't sign a plan b (or c) instead of him last summer, but it seems you would have prefered that ?

Don't force an argument out of something he never said, there's plenty of things to disagree on without making things up.
