Just sign the bitch.
@Archibald&Crooks is this worth including in the RO?JJ saying he's not an option in jan.
Done, thanks.@Archibald&Crooks is this worth including in the RO?
If Berge is a player we want I don't see a problem with a loan back type deal. The fact is that we have to sell to buy and the 2 most likely to go are injured, thus, not sellable. We're ticking along quite nicely with Winks, Sissoko and now Skipp chipping in and Dier due to return shortly. We don't have a record of playing purchases straight away either but at least this way the player would be ours for the whole pre season.
The problem with this approach is that we could end up losing him to Roma. And even if they don't snap him up now, it's very likely that there could be more suitors for him in Summer where we are quite likely to lose any bidding war.
If this is a player we've identified as a reasonably priced midfielder with great potential, then we should pull the trigger now. There is no point in trying to play this game of brinkmanship, when we've already got some serious squad problems brewing in the background (ala Ericksen, Toby, Dembele, Wanyama, etc).
I agree but quotes from today re: Pulisic pretty clearly say the club "can't" (or won't) make purchases of that size and loan the player back. I guess in Dele's case the starting salary and transfer fee were low enough Levy would sanction it but for larger first XI purchases he won't and I think we are really missing a beat by holding that line. The impression I got was that Genk want to retain his services while they're doing so well but would be up for a buy and loan back deal if the financials add up. If he's a player we want I don't see any problem with that as a concept. It also kind of ties in with the 'Not an option in Jan' ITK with him not turning up til the end of the season. It's a strategy that worked out well for us with Dele.
I believe Genk are in a title race so I can't blame them for not wanting to sell, who I'm assuming, is their best player. The impression I got was that Genk want to retain his services while they're doing so well but would be up for a buy and loan back deal if the financials add up. I'd have thought people would be a little be positive in the sense that it looks like he's an option in the summer.
He’ll sign for Chelsea in the summerI'd have thought people would be a little be positive in the sense that it looks like he's an option in the summer.
Think most of us are just wondering why wait? So long as the price wouldn't drastically change between now and the Summer (and assuming a loan-back would be in order), it just allows others to get involved. Quite frankly, it seems just like the same story, different window.

I have no idea why it has been put like that, but JJ said nothing to suggest he's a target at all, someone asked him if he's an option in this window and he said 'No', not 'No, but in the summer he might be'.
I think Davies is HG for the PL, but not for the CL. It's quite random and makes less sense than Dier's situation. The HG quota thing will soon be a thing of the past. Vorm, Llorente, Dembele, Nkoudou, Janssen & Alderweireld will soon be gone and unless Wanyama finds a way back from his injuries he'll get going as well.
If Eriksen goes that's 8 non HG players moving on. I still can't believe that Dier or Davies aren't classified as HG, it is mental but sadly something we have to deal with
He didnt say that. See a few posts above yours. Someone asked if he is an option this transfer window and he replied "no"I see there's been a hefty meltdown in this thread today.
Might be worth focusing on what JJ said in that he's not an option in Jan. Doesn't mean he won't ever be an option and I'd imagine that Genk simply don't want to lose one of their best players mid-season (shock) but this could be a goer in the summer.
The only players likely to move in January are those that are out of favour (like Lucas was at PSG) those with 6 months left to run on contract or those that clubs seriously pay way over the odds for, e.g. Pulisic.
Personally think they should just do away with the January window altogether.
He's homegrown in the prem because swansea's in the english league system, uefa goes by the country of the club not which league system they're in so doesn't countI think Davies is HG for the PL, but not for the CL. It's quite random and makes less sense than Dier's situation.
