I think if we get him he'll be a great signing for Spurs immediate and long term. What I like about Grealish is his tight control and dribbling abilities we have superb options in Dembele Moura Lamela Grealish (Alli can also do it) all great transition players in tight packed spaces.

Agree with everything apart from the bit about Alli having tight control and dribbling ability. That's not his game imo- he'd be better served trying to keep things simple and play to his strengths. Grealish is a quality dribbler and I hope Poch can turn him into a quality option for us.

Given the agent situation and the comments from ITKs, I'm pretty sure Grealish will join Spurs at some stage this summer, with just one possible complication.

That wildcard is a sale to a new owner who thinks somehow, impossible as it seems, they can kick the can on Villa's catastrophic cashflow and budgetary situations long enough down the line to keep Grealish.

But even in that scenario, I suspect from the noises we've heard that Grealish has set his heart on joining the Spurs England contingent, and would not be prepared to spend another season in a league that he's now far too good for. Even allowing for Villa being his boyhood club.

Maybe another stumbling block could be Villa setting his fee far too high.

I know they need the wedge, but I'm sure they'll be after top dollar for their prized asset.

Suppose it depends what other options are available to them.

If they need money quickly, and a lot of it, the last person they want on the phone is Levy. But from his point of view they’re ripe for picking. However long this takes the result will be the right one for Spurs.

Alli's greatest strength is running off the ball and finding spaces scoring and assisting but I have seen him dribble pretty well he can mix it imo

That's where cashflow comes in. Can Villa survive until Xmas without selling Grealish this summer? Because once the transfer window closes, they can't get money in from selling their biggest asset until January.

I suspect Levy will be prepared to offer a larger than usual first instalment on the transfer fee. But if Villa is demanding say 50% up front to meet their cashflow problems, then Levy will be insisting on a smaller total transfer fee.

Eg completely hypothetically, if Villa want £30 million with 50% up front, Levy may be counter-offering £15m up front, with another £10m in future instalments and the remaining £5m in achievement clauses.

But from all we've heard, even if Villa was subject to a takeover, I'm not sure that could be completed and pass all the regulatory hurdles in time to change their core financial situation this transfer window.

Allegedly tony has said he wont sell to americans. This after he just turned down an offer from an american consortium for a 50% share in the club that matched what he was asking.

When you can't afford to pay the wages or bring players in, why would you require a DOF. Expect more staff to go very soon.

Weirdly they are advertising for a lot of positions on LinkedIn. Keep popping up on my “suggested roles”.
