I think Moura gives us the option to play a 4-1-4-1 formation. Son on the other flank, Eriksen and Alli in the middle and Wanyama sitting. Similar to how we dismantled Man City last season.

I want Vidal no where around this team, he's a nut job. Javi Martinez would be redundant with Wanyama and Dier. Do some people even watch the games? We need a CM who can pick a pass and ping the ball all over the field dictating tempo, not another destroyed.

Agree that we need someone like this.

My main concern though is that we bring someone like this in and block the development of Harry Winks, who has the skill set (but not experiance) to fulfil this kind of role.

We could do that, or we could also drop Eriksen and Dele back deeper and have Lucas and Son press up and make it a 4-3-3. I definitely think that by signing Lucas we're giving ourselves some much needed flexibility in CM.

Who else would you be expecting?

I don’t think Moura alone is some kind of disappointing January considering we almost never buy anyone in this window. Why would the fans need appeasing?
I agree, but it’s more the impression it gives us n the media - Spurs are one of those clubs spend big like City, Chelsea, Arsenal etc...

Winks has now had a lengthy injury in both of his seasons in the first team. He's along way away from me counting on him as an every game player in this team. We need a Dembele replacement but prefer a guy who can move the ball up field by passing rather than dribbling.

Need a better passer in the 3 behind Kane. It could work but I still think we work best with Eriksen behind Kane. I'm one of the people who thinks our best lineup is without Dele though so take that into account.
Agree. It will also be interesting to see if Poch reverts to 3-4-2-1 when Toby is back fully fit... makes for some interesting attacking choices.

All just depends on who were playing, Liverpool, Man City, large clubs around Europe in UCL bring on 3 in the back. Against the bad teams in the Prem, 4 in the back.

Dembele is rarely ever fully fit these days. He's only had a handful of performances where he's been at his best this season, so for me it is a huge problem. Winks is a good young talent but he has his own injury issues. It's clearly the area of the squad that most needs to be addressed IMO.
If we get a proper midfielder just watch how it'll transform our attacking play too.

Better CMs means more ball for Eriksen, Alli and Son.

Oh come on, where’s your sense of adventure :)

The question is how are we going to mis-spell his name?

It’s a pretty easy one I have to say, but we surely can’t let him off by calling him by his actual name can we?

I suspect this is Dembele's last season with us. His performance level has dropped noticeably, his fitness is worse than ever, and he'll have a year left on his contract come the summer. Hopefully we'll sell Sissoko in the summer as well.

Any replacement wouldn't block Winks' progression as we really need at least two players at every position.

His name is perfect, as a song too... “That’s a Moura!”

That must be why he wasn't announced today. I guess they waited for the full announcement that he's passed his physical and is full on ready to go vs announcing pending a medical and work permit.

Not really sure why it matters in the end though.
Just name him in the team and surprise everyone :)
