Stats say he is!
Creativity is not just about the final pass. Two eriksen instances today, the goal and the blind over the top pass to alli I think on the counter.

No one else in our squad plays that immediate release that eriksen does

It's an amazingly exciting time with the new stadium coming as well. By the time it's done we should have a fantastic, well-oiled beast of a dynamic squad to take into it.

New stadium, great squad of young, hungry, talented players; great academy, fantastic training facilities, great manager.

Bright, bright future ahead; going to thoroughly enjoy the road there.

I'm really proud of what we're doing. The whole project is cohesive and well thought through to sustain us for many many years.

It's very exciting. Potentially, what a squad! The options when mason, dembele, nabil, Pritchard are available are immense.

It's an embarrassment of great options. We've finally got a squad to cover us over all comps. Can't wait for CCV to come through into the defensive pool now after we sell Faz.

I don't think he's a number 10, or a winger - which makes him unsuited to playing in a three behind the striker. I don't think he is a deep lying playmaker. He is an attacking midfielder (is that what you mean by a number 8?) - someone who breaks forward from midfield while a playmaker stays back. Someone, as I said, like Gerrard or Lampard. This type of player doesn't fit very well into a 4231 formation, which is why Lamela looks so capable yet so awkward at the moment for Spurs.

I can see your point actually. I don't necessarily agree with it, but I can see your reasoning.

I'm quite pleased with Lamela so far, he still has his mistakes, but the pendulum seems to be shifting, with more talking about his good bits than his bad.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the lad, his work ethic is first rate, his courage undeniable (he never hides from the ball, he demands it) and his confidence seems to be increasing as a direct result of the faith the manager is showing in him.

So far he is earning his starts, I look forward to him improving further and cementing his spot.

Ali and Dier have to be one of the youngest center mid pairings in league history surely? I know Arse might have had younger in the league cup but not in the league?

Which is why people need to stop shitting their pants every other day of the week.

Or making out we're going to win the league after one win over a team nobody has ever heard of, and a narrow victory over the mighty Crystal Palace.

I'm not saying it is mate, I'm being slighting ironic using the stat card - usually don't like an over reliance on them and Modric was a great example of that, often supplying the pass before the assist, just as crucial. That said he does have a more incisive pass than Eriksen, that there is no doubt.

Interesting thought but surely Lamela would get sent off every game if he was asked the play in the middle of the park? His tackling is horrendous
He's more of a terrier than a tackler. But he would complement a midfield partner who was more cultured defensively.

It's an exaggeration to go with your equally exaggerated statement about people "shitting their pants" for having legitimate concerns about our progress in recent weeks.

Go and start a ruck with BC, mate. Not interested. It's a good day; take the grey cloud somewhere else. Ta.

I think his best position is actually floating in between the two.
That's precisely why I'd like to see us play 532, with Lamela at the top of the midfield three, Rose and Walker providing the width, and Eriksen playing off Kane up front. It'll never happen though. And, to be honest, I don't think it'd necessarily be an improvement on the set-up at the moment, which is looking quite impressive, especially defensively.

Fucks sake Poch I can't believe that line up. Why isn't (Insert players name here) in the team? How the fuck is (Insert players name here) playing? Same old clueless bilge. We're gonna get thrashed with (Insert players name here) in the team. How he plays (Insert players name here) in (Insert postion here) is beyond me.

I think it was a good day too. Just a shame some of the over the top happy clappers have to swoop in and make it out to be more than it really is.

He can do it in a 4231 from the 10 position, just needs specific instructions to do so. Would help him a lot.
