Sky were or BBC (can't remember which one) said there wasn't much between the teams but like those Palace fans said I don't think they really got properly started in the match and I thought we were the better team without a doubt.

Even with their two big chances, the second one was incredibly dangerous and had it not been for an incredible save was a goal but Cabaye's was just a fantastic effort, I don't even think it was like we presented them with a great chance there, a good chance certainly yes. Fuck knows how Cabaye found the far post so cleanly from that angle. It was one of those efforts that whilst it was travelling I was never really worried, much like Rodwell's last week when he hit the top of the crossbar for Sunderland, I never felt worried whilst the ball was travelling. Was shitting myself when Sakho struck his shot.

In terms of clear cut chances there wasn't much between the two sides. Possesion wise we dominated but as the old saying goes, goals wins games.

Not saying that, but I think completely overblown praise is just as damaging to fan expectations as relentless criticism.

We're a work in progress right now, and today was a very positive step in the right direction. However there are still problems with the team that need to be addressed, and our next two games will really put those weaknesses to the test.

There's a difference between being happy and being delusional.

Gotta say I agree with this (it took a while but you got there in the end mate ;) )

It was a very positive performance, but it is evident that there is still a lot of work to do to achieve our full potential.

That is what I find exciting, we have virtually an entire squad that is years away from its physical and mental peak, yet they're showing improvement on a game by game basis, maturing rapidly.

The caveat to that is that, whilst maturing, they're not yet mature, so we should expect some regression in games to come where they will be poor.

The support kinda reflects that too, extremes in expectation and response. You can't even put that down to age either, as there are more than a few level headed youngsters here with some bat shit crazy older fans.

I like the middle ground myself, cautiously optimistic, but always optimistic.

It's not the hope that kills you, it's the expectation.

At the risk of being really unpopular, I thought we were our ususl dull, unimaginative selves and if the game had finished nil nil it would have been a fair result. I was at the game so may have missed something?

About 90 minutes of Football by the sounds of it mate! ;)

I think what we all wanted was for us to look more entertaining and be more exciting to watch and lift the atmosphere at games, particularly at home. I think players being brought in from the academy like Mason, Kane, Pritchard, Carroll and co, with signings like Son and Alli and hopefully Njie have gone along way to addressing this, the team is a work in progress and we won't win every game, but I do think this season we are already more enjoyable to watch and Son and Alli in particular along with the return of Eriksen and the more space given to Lamela by the more attacking outlook, will make us an entertaining team again.

I said last season that one thing I would love to see would be Pochettino giving the youth a chance to develop and mature together. I felt it would give us some identity again and make it easier for the fans to get behind the team. There have been recent signs that things are progressing, but as you say, they will make mistakes.

If by the end of the season we look like we're really developing a clear style, but finish out of the top 6, I won't have an issue with that. The frustration has been more to do with the lengthy periods where we appear to be stagnating, or when Pochettino makes strange choices.

Also not conceding gives you an even better chance of winning

The same fixtures from last year we had conceded 9 goals - this year just 4 -
