Did BC hack your account?.

Been on Walker's case before BC, mate.

Did BC hack your account? Walker was one of our better players last season, but of course you refuse to believe it.

Quite a feat.

If you have time to go through the match threads, I commend him on the good he does but also call him out on his dumb shit.

I'm fair on players. If Lamela started stinking up the joint after a couple of proper seasons I'd be on his case as well.

As much as I will love a player for whatever reason, it's nothing compared to the love I have for this club.

My opinions aren't driven by vendetta, it's what I see as best for the CLUB.

I haven't seen enough from Walker to show he's a good enough RB. He's not a natural defender. RW would suit him better imo.

Anyway, I can hear arch charging his tool....

Interesting post from one of the lads on FTL

This evening I went for a pizza at Pizza East in London's trendy Notting Hill. As I was paying I noticed Baldini lurking around waiting for a table, so I said he could have mine.

Anyway, I asked if he was getting us a striker or any other signings. He said yes, "2 or 3 before end of August". What a surprise.

I then said thank god Sherwood was gone. He laughed and said he isn't a manager, but might be in the future. Surprisingly diplomatic.

Then said Lamela is going to tear it up this season. He said he's surprised when he doesn't score in games because he's that good. Also said "they" ruined him last year, because he was very young, shy and in a new country. This season things will be different.

Finally, said he thought we "finally" have a manager now in Poch. Seemed very encouraged by him

Everything a lot of us already know, but good to hear it from the suave-miester, if true.

Nice find Barry.

Love ITK like this (if true , pinch of salt etc). That's a couple of times people have chanced upon Baldini and he's been quite open.

'2 or 3, before the end of August.' is revealing; I think we're starting the season with what we've got & Levy is hedging for late deals, no surprises on that front & Poch doesn't seem to be petitioning too hard for players. Line ups in the next friendlies with a full squad will be interesting.

I think he is right, i have a feeling, strong one, that Lamela will be on the shortlist for premiership player of the year, could have a Bale like season, Baldini sounds confident

Have to accept that it's not gonna be properly sorted until the end of next summer, it just isn't.

But it will get sorted, especially due to our manager being an former defender.

Just one of those things.

If we're desperate something might happen in Jan, but will have to be crisis point for levy to spend on a top CB then and this summer won't do the full job.

I suspect poch will want to bring in a RB next summer as well as Walker is gonna freak him right out.:D

This window won't do the job needed.

Why will it take a year to sort out? A nice healthy bid for Manolas and it's gives us an extremely strong back 4 with Kaboul and Chiriches in reserve. Also Walker is made for a Pochettino team.

I think Rose and Naughton will go next summer (if rose doesn't go this), a RB brought in to compete with walker and a new LB to go up against Davies.

Not sure Kaboul or Chiri will be around after next summer, either. Gut feeling.

I think he's gonna slowly rebuild the defense around verts and Davies starting with whoever he has in mind at the mo.

That's my hunch.

*Archie, I am trying...just when you think you're out...they pull ya back in!

True; a centre back at that price? That's just not the market we operate in.

A good but not particularly outstanding CB at that price. How much would a CB of the quality of Ledley, Judas, Rio or Vidic go for?

It concerns me that we could be asked for something approaching that for a CB who's only a minor upgrade on Dawson.

Was the "yes" referring to us getting a new striker or us signing new players in general.

Balls deep analysis going in here.

I actually think that is the price for a quality CB now. There's a serious lack of quality in that position currently. If I had the choice I'd much rather spend that and therefore sort our defence than spend it on another attacking player.

'2 or 3 before the end of August'....or 2 or 3 at the end of August lol

Don't mind waiting until nearer the deadline for a LW or a CM if needed, but IMO a new centre back needs to be in place before the start of the season. A solid, settled defence is vital if we're to get off to a good start.
