Chelsea would sell to us if we offered the right money! We tend to get creative on deals and they want a fast clean cash transaction!
Jose doesn't rate Lukaku (no ball control) and its going to be interesting where he goes and we are one of the clubs interested in him.
If that's what they want then surely negotiations with Levy would be the longest in transfer history. We might want to start now if we are going to get him before the January window closes.

Did you know we were offered Zinedine Zidane as an 18yr old but turned him down because a Director thought he had a funny name.

No, that was Stefan Effenberg, apparently. The Mullet was supposed to have turned down ZZ because he was 'too wooden'.

This makes a lot of sense actually. They have no need whatsoever to sit and listen to us toy about with potential options and propositions.

That having been said, I really hope we don't pursue this. Would cost far too much, and I agree that his ball control isn't the greatest and it'd even more of a problem in the compressed field we'd be facing.

Why do they need a fast transaction? They don't need the money in order to buy another striker. I think this one could drag on a bit. I'd imagine they'd rather sell to another team for a little bit less than sell to us. I can't see Lukaku not getting any other interest other than us. So if they do eventually give in and sell to us it'll be right at the end of the window. Plus, they'll probably use it as a way to dick us around. Keep us negotiating for their man whilst we potentially struggle to pick up points at the beginning of the season. I don't know, something doesn't sit right for me about this and I think Chelsea will just dick us around.

Could you imagine Levy negotiating with CFC?....."you want £30m?.....how about £21m, with an additional £5m in incentives....all of this to be paid over the next 100 years and we throw in a oyster card with £4.12 on it....sound good to everyone?"

I am wondering if we will even look at a left winger or if Remy/Jay Rod will be the only sort of signing we would make with that position in mind. I would hope we are but I can't see us getting Depay and I think we will prioritise a CB, LB and Striker above it. Obviously we really need to sort out our defence and Bony/Lukaku are good players but I also think a proper LW should be a priority as we don't actually have one.

LW and LB should be priorities 1 and 1a with striker and CB depending on sales

It's that reason why I think we might go for Bony.

I'm still hopeful that Townsend can become that player with good coaching (which I think that Pochettino will bring to the table). For me, Townsend's better on the left than he is on the right, and I think he has all the physical tools to be a top-6 standard LW... albeit the tactical/decision-making side of his game needs improvement, which is where I hope our new and improved first-team coach will earn his money.

basically JJ is being even more pessimistic than Edmonton and saying there is no chance :D

edit: I am actually commenting on ITK and I got the only SPAM rating in a fucking thread full of horseshit about players we supposedly turned down 25 years ago and Townsend's abilities. :ROFLMAO:

First he needs to learn to run without looking at his feet, and then to look up and see where his team-mates are rather than delivering a blind hoof into Row Z. I'd love it if Pochettino could make something out of him, but I'm none too confident.

Hey JJ.

Apologies for picking your brain. In regards to R Rodriquez, you've implied its a no go?

Is that due to his price, the fact he has better options or he just doesn't want to come.

Was/is he ever a target?

Funny and Agree. But the underlying truth of that logical argument overpowers the amusing tongue-in-cheek tone of your post, so Green Tick beats Smilie Face.
