There is a lot of disgruntled Spurs fans lately and rightly so, And whilst I feel that Avb is NOT the man to lead us to glory, Would it be a good move to sever our ties with him now? On the one hand I hate the idea of chopping managers around all the time as it does nothing for stability and tbh there is not a lot about who could drop into the role at Spurs and become effective and salvage what looks like is going to be a tough season ahead regardless.
At the same time, Avb has dramatically changed our team to the point where we look totally clueless. As a manager you have to play to the strengths of your players and not fit players into a system that devours your team of any creativity and makes them play an illogical way. You can argue that Avb has given us a defensive solidity and that the goals will come, Though even the most ardent of Avb support have to agree that his methods are just not working. He is seemingly unaware tactically what he needs to do to change a game to our favour when we go behind and his insistence on sticking to his rigid system is holding back our creativity.
In my head, I am saying we should stick with him and hope that the penny drops and that he can turn this around and create a team that can seriously challenge. My heart on the other hand wants back what I loved most about Spurs and that is there endeavour to play the game with the flourish and flair that we have always tried to play. From my memory I can only remember a more negative manager that has ever graced our club and that was Graham, Because of his background he lasted not very long. Should Avb be given more grace than Graham? Let's face it we have much more talent at spurs than when Graham was manager and we seem further apart from where Harry left us.
If we had to get shot of Avb, Who could we get to replace him? An honest Question because I am as confused about this as our players are about Avb's system!!
