Would it? Much better ways to spend 28m IMO.

I knew someone would do that ! Just a hypothetical example pulled off the top of my head ie. AVB loves Hulk but he went for 40m odd and big wages in a deal that did not represent good value for money.

It's the least important part of my post as its just a quick example that you could replace with whatever you saw fit

Found it really interesting the update about switching targets at almost a moments notice. Goes to show that unless you can lay down the fee and the wages in full straight away how much work and luck must be required in order to pull one of these transfers off. Throw third parties in and the fact we're competing with numerous clubs and it's no surprise some of these transfer sagas are so drawn out.

Which is why ITK can regularly be spot on in the moment but invariably doesn't come to fruition.

Just my opinion, but I get the feeling from the info we've heard about Leandro and Villa (including JJ's latest info) that both are holding out for 'bigger' moves if possible, and I suspect that's the case with a lot of our striker targets (Soldado, Benteke etc).

Until those bigger moves are off the table, I don't see these players accepting a move to us, and as we can't outbid teams to force the issue, I think we'll again have to be patient with regards to incoming transfers.

I'd heard Karen Brady was using it for his sex change op to finally be a real woman. It will cost so much as he is an ugly fucker at the moment and only Pinky likes ugly birds.

Karen brady doesn't have shit on my cabbie.

Horrified by this.

Yep, in particular the agents sniffing around for a more lucrative deal for themselves, not only their clients. That's the impression I get anyway.

Not surprising to me that West Ham have money, as I've always believed that we have had money there as well for the correct player.

If you believe various bits of info then.....

We bid around 25m for Soldado last summer - according to Soldado himself

We thought we had Mata for around 22m summer before - straight from Harry's mouth

Almost agreed on Leandro at round about the 17-20m mark in January

Almost had Moutinho for around 26m at the end of last summer window.

We would have signed Hazard for around 30m IF he had agreed to come to us on do-able wages.

Obviously some may cast their suspicions on a few of those deals, but I've always believed that we have had money IF we can find the right quality of player for the right kind of money.

It's just hard doing that and getting something finalised, made a little harder by the fact that Levy will simply not cave in and chuck on the few extra millions required to rattle something through a little quicker.

Put it this way, in an imaginary world where we could get someone like let's say Hulk for 28m and reasonable wages, I firmly believe we would do it because it would represent good value and we DO have the funds for a good deal like that

Something about horseshoes and hand grenades ;)

Realistically there are not that many teams that they may prefer to us though:

In Spain: Barca, Real and maybe Athletico.

In Italy: AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus

In England: Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal

In Germany: Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund

Others: PSG and Monaco

Out of all of those clubs I can only see Arsenal wanting Villa (maybe Monaco), and both Dortmund & Athletico wanting Leandro. So the players waiting for bigger moves shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Have we had ITK on Karen Brady? No. So i'm not sure why we're getting posts saying who would and who wouldn't give her a portion. But FTR, Karen Brady when she first came into the public eye, well, i'd come in her eye. Karen Brady now? Nah. I reckon it'd be like throwing a sausage up Oxford Street. Not ITK.

You have to add all the Russian moneybags teams to that list as well unfortunately.

In any case, that's still a lot of teams, and although we can speculate on which clubs might want which players, the agents will be in no rush to sell to us until that lot are 100% out of the picture.

It's annoying, but it's also the reality, and is probably why it's hard for us to do deals early unless we do a very very good job of selling the club to the actual player (as we've done previously with Modric, Vertonghen and Lloris). Even if we do that good selling job though, agents will always hang on for that late bid from one of the billionaires.

depending on if the whispers on that place that shall not be named are true about Barca sniffing around Leandro. Not so sure myself after signing Neymar

I understand that clubs here and there have made agreements etc that have been publicised, but in truth the window doesn't actually 'open' for another 25 days. Granted we might hear some snippets about meetings with agents and accountants but can't really expect anything (especially left field) until this happens.

This is when contracts run down and start also. We'll just have to be patient and just wait and watch it ;) for now?
