I don't buy this Villa stuff. In his prime I'd have been over the moon, but I just feel there are too many question marks of late. I just don't see Levy sanctioning that sort of outlay on someone whilst there are no questions over his class and ability in the past, his future is less clear. 31 isn't all that old and he is proven at International, Europe and La Liga, but 31 off the back of a major injury and having not played at the tempo/physicality of PL football (very different from La Liga) just seems very unlike Levy.
Expect anyone unproven in England to be considerably younger, more about potential than prestige.

So the Alderwelerledlwerlwldalalelrda fella looking a possible canditdate for CB do we reckon? Gallas is offski no doubt. Dawson maybe the one who goes? Unless the club is merely covering itself in the event Kabs doesn't hit the ground running in his first season back or if he will have an on-going "situation" with it.

Or maybe AVB will convince Jan to move to LB for next season and then see what's what after that.

f people are going to say that they have head a rumour can they also say where this information has come from

If not then i will assume one of the following:
1) Its bollocks
2) its bollocks from Neil Easton
3)Its bollocks from someone else on twitter
4) you just making things up

It's happened in this thread a couple of times on the hurry up now. Pound to a pinch of pigshit it's Twitter. Just take away their access and leave them pondering their cleverness after that. Otherwise this thread is going to end up more full of crap than a constipated bulimic. Constantly asking, reminding and cajoling will do no good. That leaves only one course of action if we want this place to be what it usually is.

We're not fucking about this summer.

Zola was 30 when he touched down at chavski just sayn and tackling was abit rougher back then

he didn't do to badly during the next 7 odd years

these foriegners aren't usually like the English (Gio aside) out downing jeroboams of vodka in the early hours during the week, they tend to look after themselves abit better than that thus they can play at the top level longer

Am i right in thinking AVB has never had the chance to build his own team?
Its pretty exciting to me that he may be able to this year.

Oh and further to this, if any members wish to give these illuminated and extremely clever genie-eye a spam rating for such posts, that would be most apt, deserved, and very, very funny.

A&C.....Sick and twisted all day long. #Twitterfree.

AVB already thinks we can win the title next season with all the shake ups going on at the usual big money **** clubs.

I love AVB.

Closest thing to ITK I've got, would take with a massive pinch of salt.

Bumped into Caulker on Tuesday in Waterloo, his mate jokingly suggested Rodgers is tapping him up, to which Caulker got very angry about, telling his (drunk) mate to be quiet very forcefully.

Wouldn't look too much into it, have a photo, however not posting on here as he asked it not to 'do the rounds'. Happy to verify with a mod.

Will be putting a 10er on him to join Liverpool if/when odds are offered.

What a delightful way of looking at things. You're right. He had a chance to buy some players for the chavs, and many of them look very promising, but as we know, he was booted out of their before he could really take his coat off.

I wouldn't be devastated by this tbh. He looks to be a good young player but not a Sol or Ledders mk II, imo. Cheers for passing it on, Ed.

I'll be off the scale mad if we sell Caulker to those bin dipping ****'s.

Best home grown player we've developed in years and people are prepared to sell him ffs. He's 21. I bet Ledley King didn't look like he was going to turn out to be as good as he did at 21. Probably had people writing him off as well.

Seen a rumour earlier caulker could be Liverpool bound

I can categorically state that as of yesterday LFC are not interested in Caulker.

They have a list of about 5/6 targets their after right now but Caulker isn't on that list unless something has drastically changed in the last couple of days. Its the whole ex-Rodger's player thing again, which, in a lot of ways, is a fair enough argument, but not this time.

Hope that helps.

I'd take 10 mill + for Caulker, he's good in the air but look clumsy up against anyone with any guile or pace. Don't see him ever being anything more than a squad player unfortunately.

Just to clarify, I don't want him sold at all and think he's a good player and am looking forward to seeing him in the squad for many yrs to come. However, if he decides he wants out and his contract runs down over the next couple of yrs, so be it. DL will make lemonade as always and we'll just have to move on.

Just as an aside I was a regular at the Lane when Ledders broke into the first team squad. He was better. Eevn if he saw a fair amount of time in midfield as opposed to defence. The guy just had it. He was the lynchpin of the defence by the time he was Caulker's age (even taking into account the rather meagre talent in the team at that time - Ledley would be a starter at 21 in this season's team, I'm of no doubt about that).

None of that means Caulker isn't a fine player and I hope he decides his future is at Spurs, just sayin'. We won't on the evidence so far, be losing one of the most talented English players of his generation though.

Mate, King pissed all over Caulker at the age of 21.
