I make you right!.. it just seems that the passion that's been shown by generations gone is not the same now!.. theres many reasons understanderbly but it's more like the fans being obideint servants in the ground now.

Where the feck did i say you or anyone was less of a fan !
What i said was i got into it with day pass fans because of the way they where supporting the team/players.
If you read my post properly i said i dont even go to the lane anymore ... i was giving you my experience & reason why i dont go anymore so how could i be a moaning regular.
Get of your horse fella
To be quite honest i'd rather be in the ground with empty seats if it meant a better atmosphere if you see what i mean!..fans giving their all.. the last time it happened was v shahktar 3 days before the league cup final v man u when 26.000 turned up & sounded like 100.000 supporting a team of kids & no marks.

Fair enough. I wasn't implying that you specifically are a moaning regular by the way - just that when I do get to games it always seems to be the same people that are slagging off certain players at every opportunity, and generally doing their bit to create a negative atmosphere. These days I try my best to get a ticket in south lower as that's usually where the best atmosphere is, but the last few times it's been pretty pathetic.

I'm sure there are more new supporters that don't really remember us in the 90s and most of the 2000s - and maybe some are turning up expecting a big win as a minimum instead of actually supporting the team and enjoying the match. A city-supporting mate of mine was saying something similar - that since they became one of the 'big boys' the atmosphere at their games has changed for the worse, compared to when they were getting big crowds in League 1. I think in general when there's more to play for there's more anxiety in the stands.

Sorry to take this off topic.

I was a big fan having played against seen him come through and my friends played with him as he was coming through but he has been terrible at the beginning of the season BUT he hasnt played for around 3 years so it is understandable that he has been poor tbh.

I think people forget how good he was for us in a 442 the season we got CL

Is this thread even a debate at the moment.
Everytime Hudd has come on recently he has had a fantastic effect on the game for us.
Seem to remember him finding his form at the tail of the season when we last qualified for the champions league.

Obviously its a slightly different thing to say he should start but if he can maintain his impact off the bench then what a player to have. Ver few players have the same vision and ability to pass it anywhere they want with either foot.

Tom has been an impressive impact sub, I think the rule avb has used to bring him on is if Parker start pirouetting.

Parker needs time to fine a pass so he spins to see who's open, Tom is able to find the pass quickly.

He links up our attack something that has been missing of late when ade is on the pitch.

Tom + Defoe = attack with teeth that doesn't rely on bale 100%.

I'd like to see Hudd do one of Parker's pirouettes. Imagine how many people would get killed.

Great technical ability but way too heavy for the role he wants to play! Love to see him flourish as I had forgot about how instrumental he was in getting us our Champs League adventure.

He has the ability to be a solid premier league footballer and one we will need if we are to perform in more than one competition (our second XI is laughable bar the defence). He needs to decide what's important to him and lose a stone or two to give him that little extra mobility.

I'll give you that, it does seem like a lot of our fans turn up to WHL mistakenly thinking it's a Year 8 disco...
Don't get me started! There's this guy in my row, he doesn't even have the excuse of youth as he's not much younger than me, perhaps he's 24/25/26, and he has had the most atrocious shapes to his long blonde hair over the years. Currently his hair is shaven at the sides but very long on the top, and all swept down one side of his face. Sometimes he leaves it as such, sometimes he has it in a bun. Always he looks like a ****. I wouldn't even mind so much if he had the good grace to show up on time at the beginning of both halves, though admittedly he's not as bad as his wanker skinny shaven headed mate (I actually got in a small scuffle with him a few years back over his total lack of appreciation of the inconvenience he constantly caused the rest of us by coming late), he's at least apologetic over it these days, but there was a time where I would happily have stamped his face repeatedly into the ground. Actually, for the sake of keeping this thread on topic, there was a time where I would have happily had Tom Huddlestone stamp his face repeatedly into the ground, blonde locks frying everywhere, shards of glass from his ****ish shades flying in all directions and his girly screams filling the West Stand....

Okay I got a bit carried away, but I really hate his hair!

Why do some people in this thread fail to understand that Hudd only looked decent because he came on against tiring legs that gave him the time and space to pick passses. What part of this is so hard for you to get your head around FFS?

Throughout the last 7 years Hudd has continually proven he struggles against quicker more mobile teams that don't allow him time and space. He just doesn't have the mobility or intelligence to find time and space when starting.

I did piss myself laughing when I read about Hudd coming on and 'doing a job' on Tevez. Sometimes people read too many books and always have to have a technical reason for why something happens. The reason Hudd didn't cover as much ground as Parker and played in the holding role is because he is too slow and cumbersome to press and harry anyone!

I've been in the anti THudd camp . However , mebbe people can change , mebbe THudd is hungrier these days .Perhaps he was guilty of believing his own hype, now has grown a pair and realised its time to move out of his comfort zone and has worked on his mobility .

Yes I've seen him bypassed with ease by the oppo in times gone by ....but I don't recall this in his 2013 outings so far .

I agree with BC that his Bale pass was the most incisive we can ever remember from him , his long hollywood passes look nice but haven't been splitting defences . There is no doubt he can strike the ball well and brings to the table passing skills our other mids don't have and just maybe he's going to start doing incisive passes . I've always said that if he can do a pinpoint 40 yard crossfield pass then surely he can do a 40 yard pinpoint shot on goal .

His recent sub cameos , admittedly vs tiring defences , have been effective .

All I'm saying is that before we sell him I hope we can get a chance to check him out a bit in the games remaining to make entirely sure that his drawbacks still outweigh his advantages .

Why do some people on this thread fail to understand that a central midfielder coming on and excelling in a high pressure situation where his team are losing at home to a superior team (containing one of the best midfielders of the past decade) and not playing particularly well is impressive, even with the caveat that the other teams poor little selves are all tuckered out after a mere hour's worth of football.

In fairness, when Tom came on he did anchor himself in front of the defence and didn't/couldn't go hunting the ball like Parker which meant he was now sitting in the area Tevez was getting far too much space in the first half, he didn't do a job on him per se, but his positioning did stop Tevez having his own postcode between our defensive lines.
