Mr. Pink. We're heavily linked to two Brazilians: One of them is pretty close to being characterized as a footballing superstar, the other one has the name of one, and they will both somewhat reduce the need for VDV in the squad. If he'd say Brazilian Galactico or something I'd follow you but this here is - at the very best - straw clutching..

Oh for sure - not suggesting there is any real merit in my thinking, there isn't!

It will be Leandro.

I think people are looking too far into JJ's tweet. There doesn't always have to be some deeper meaning or cryptic.

Last night a guy made a joke to JJ on twitter that JJ called a "Swedish joke". Hence, this morning, he decided to play off of the whole Swedish and post something himself in Swedish. Doesn't have to tie in at all to Sweden, just JJ having a good time.

He mentioned "Striker" in that first tweet, so that rules out Willian. Also, from following JJ, he does rate Leandro very highly and can easily see how he considers him to be a Brazilian superstar. He is the Brazilian #9 by the way, he may not be widely known world wide as of yet, but I'm sure he is quite the superstar in his own country.

Gone to Russia hasn't he? Or am I getting confused with someone else?

Just wondering because my mate was just talking about how AVB said few months back how he is the perfect centre back for possession football and the high line.
Then seen a Porto fan on twitter on about rolando good luck in England was thinking maybe that's why he's forcing Dawson out

I don't think the desire for him to leave is coming from VDV's end though. It's all very well him saying he wants to stay - I genuinely believe he does, and he'd be happy to play out the majority of his career here, before finishing back at AJax. However, I don't think AVB necessarily thinks he fits into his system for all the reasons that have been outlined plenty of times in this thread, and signing Siggurdson for good money at the start of the window, when he plays directly in the same position - and there's only room for one of them in AVB's system was a clear enough sign to me. If AVB isn't entirely sure about VDV and the value is offered to Levy of getting more than our money back for a 29 year old in this window where we're potentially laying out lots of money, I reckon he'd gladly take it.
I must qualify this post by saying I think it would be a crying shame and entirely the wrong thing to do to sell VDV and I'd much rather have him start every week than Siggurdson, but it's what I can see happening.

If AVB thinks Sig is an appropriate replacement for VDV I can only question his credentials as a manager.

Please be Leandro.
Please be Leandro.
Please be Leandro.

£21 million is an absolute steal for the Brazilian #9. But the thing that I really like about Leandro is that he struggled to get started in the game. He didn't just come in and start dominating straight away. He's had to work hard, develop, and win people over. He's had to completely earn everything he's gotten. I think this speaks to a mental toughness that he has that should lessen the risk of him not being able to settle in London or to not be able to adapt the League. I think there is a lot less risk of this happening due in large part to the more difficult path he has had to make to get to where he is today. And if he continues to develop, he's the type of player we could probably get £50m for down the road, assuming FFP is as toothless as Chelsea has made it look this summer.

I don't want VDV to leave  I love him, he's one of our best players, if he gets sold, it'll be the first thing that AVB has done that i will not like. (n)

I guess the question is if we really need to sell VDV in order to bring in Moutinho? I don't quite understand that as we should have funds from the Modric sale for that transfer.

If that is true though, I would rather have Sig/Moutinho than Sig/VDV and no Moutinho. We are going to be in world's of hurt if we don't properly replace Modric.
