Right, I know this is a bit off topic but Ba has 7.5 million release clause on him according to the press... Why on earth aren't we going for him? Don't get me wrong, I'd bloody love Falcao and have been a big admirer of his but he's going to cost stupid stupid money, if we want to run the club properly why not throw money at Ba instead? For all those who say he won't want to come, pay him more, it'll still be so much cheaper than someone like Falcao and we have Ade already so yeah... If that clause exists it's a no brainer imo.

As others have said, his knee/insurance is an issue.

Also IIRC that clause expired on June 30th.

LOLz at people actually thinking we could get Falcao.

I fear our optimism-meters are definitely up to 11 on the official Spinal Tap scale.

Doesn't mean we're not interested - but that's a far cry from him wanting to come, agreeing a fee with the club, agreeing the wages with him.

Don't. Get. Carried. Away. Otherwise I'll come at you with a dose of "I told you so".

Trust.

Stop it with the Falcao killjoy stuff. He went to Athletico Madrid so why not Spurs, we are at least on their level and they need to sell. At least let us drool over the prospect for a while until it is confirmed that it wont happen.
This is a new era and we have been told of 'big things' and stuff that will 'blow our socks off' ... so why not?

Atletico will want £40m+. That's why.

Because he is probably the best out and out striker in the world, if there was even a slight sign of him being for sale city and chelsea will be all over him like a rash offering 250k a week
Great striker yes, but "best out and out striker in the world"? I don't think so and I'm a big admirer.

I agree - I'm fed up of seeing people completely discount Spurs for deals. Who knows if we offer 30 Million for him, they accept, maybe he has his head turned. He strikes me as a player that wants to play for football reasons, not money grabber. I may be wrong but this is just my opinion.

JJetset did respond recently to Defoe, Kane and Adebayor being our strikers this season by saying to take 1 out (Defoe?) and add 2 in. So far it sounds like it's coming together. I wonder who the other 2 are though.
Would love Falcoa but wonder how we'd fit him and Ade in the same line up?

I expect us to sign Ade, a wide right forward to compete with Lennon and a striker who is more potential and happy to play in rotation to Ade and as sub while he settles (someone from Brazil for example who can be eased in like Sandro was)
Exactly what I was thinking. No way will we sign Falcao and put Adebayor on the bench. Expecially on his wages.

Just got a feeling we'll end up signing Leandro. It seems to have gone quiet on him for a few weeks now so would be typical if we land him now. Add to that a wide attacker like Lopez/Remy and we'll be sorted.

You all doubt the signing of Falcao, but the picture of A&C lying naked on a couch in a seductive pose has worked on all our other top transfers, so why wouldn't it work on Radamel!

Athletico are in no position to be pushing for a big fee. They owe Porto money, big time. And NEED to sell Falcao, I believe they are currently offering him about.

I just think that we're going to sign a great striker. It makes no sense to bring in the players that we're bringing in and spending money on breaking our wage structure (in order to keep Bale and Adebayor) unless someone really good is going to be at the front.

I COULD f*ck Halle Berry. Is it going to happen? I will probably need a face transplant and to add 5 figures to my bank balance. So NO.
Is that Halle Berry the choosy hooker? ;)

I quite like the idea od signing Adrian...every week I'd get the opportunity to do my Rocky impression

You do not break your wage structure to sign Adebayor in order to then bring in another striker who is going to take his place surely?

People go on about Ba's knees, but they were saying the same about VDV six years ago!
