Im preparing myself for more comedy gold as levy wheels his suitcase of money around Spain on the last day.

Can believe we have done exactly the same thing as last window. Ive said it for months now but our transfer strategy is nothing short of a disaster.

We are perennial window shoppers. If we cant afford said players, start negotiating with players we can afford, ffs.

I understand your frustation, all of us are frustrated becuase we love the club and what us to succed on every level.

However how can you say our transfer strategy is a diasaster - do you know what it is becuase I dont? Whos to say we are aren't negoating with players we can afford, maybe they are doing exactly that as we speak negoatating? More importantly the window isn't over yet we may still end up with some great new players. It would have been great if it was all done early but hey ho it wasnt but I think we need to calm down and wait for the window to shut before we call it a complete write off.

and yet another acting like it's all over before the window's even shut. So what if we sign players on the last day? You can whine all you like about our strategy but you have to admit - you simply don't know our strategy. As far as you know, as far as any of us know, we could've been hot on the trail of many targets, for weeks before the window even opened, yet they have all fallen short for whatever reason - could be other clubs have come in, could be they want insane wages, could be that they just weren't for sale, but people will judge on what they read on forums/hear on the radio and don't ever stop to think about the stuff that they haven't heard about.

Hands up who knew we were going to sign Modric? No-one? Why does that case not make you think that maybe our strategy is as good as it's going to get and it's other factors that are letting us down?

Bit of faith, bit of patience - the window is closing soon, wait until it does and then we can see what we've got in our sack on mid-summers-christmas-day.

Stop talking sense. It has no place here whatsoever :shhh:

We all know our strategy by now, the proof is that nobody has signed. We go for big name players, offer pittance in salary and wages. Everybody apart from VDV turned us down.

Just tell me this, what top striker is going to be signed 6 days before a window closes? If this Adebayor deal falls through we are screwed. Again.

Either we will announce a deal before tomorrow lunchtime or on Wednesday, usually when it gets to the last couple days, we seem to announce it on deadline day, like Pav, Corluka, Chimbonda.

to me it seems as though Levy has some sort of maths equation thats worked out by inputting the number of quality player we could attract, the number of clubs they are likely to play for and the 25 man rule

Where the answer is someone we are interested in will not fit into a squad because of the rule. Or B & Y x

And another thing. People are talking about how complex these deals are and how long they take.

Deals are only complex if you cannot afford them. The reason why Adebayor and Diarra are all dgragging along is because we dont have the means to put in a sensible offer in the 1st place.

It goes something like this....

Levy...how much for Adebayor?
Cook...5m loan fee and 125k a week wages
Levy....we are only prepared to pay 2m loan fee and 65k wages
Cook...sorry daniel no deal
Levy....ok, what about 2.25m loan fee and 67.5k a week wages

and on and on and on...

What top striker was going to sign at the beginning of the transfer window? I don't know any that did or was going to or wtf happened. We tried for a couple I believe but they didn't come off.

I think a place better suited for this discussion would be Spurs chat, and seeing as RichSpur won't be able to continue it here anyway, it seems rather fitting...

I'd prefer he did that and we actually got someone to improve the team. Than be in exactly the same position next transfer window trying to get rid of deadwood.

Sorry, won't say another word.

Don't write the Diarra deal off.

The hold-up is because Real Madrid want to insert a clause which would give them a % of any sell-on fee. It's because they believe he'll play more games for us, than he will for them. Tottenham are reluctant to agree to this arrangement, therefore it's a case of bluff and double-bluff.

Real Madrid are not forcing Lassana Diarra out of the door, but he's taken the decision himself to leave and find first-team football elsewhere. However, €12m - and removing some €3m/yr wages - appeals to Real Madrid.

But there's an impasse. And it's over this clause, which we're not happy about. If Diarra looks like he's about to walk away from the deal, then it might just force Real's hand, and to concede on some demands. It really depends whether they've earmarked the €12m to enable them to do something else.

As I said, do not write this one off. I do think it will happen.

Is it just me or was ALL of the ITK from January's window a load of tosh?
Don't know why anyone even entertains any of it. Just chill and when (if) something is announced we can all scream with delight/anger depending on the outcome. All I'll say is that I can't wait for the window to shut. Worst time of the season.
