Harry has just said we only have two fit CB

Dawson suspended for 3 games
Woodgate not ready yet
Kaboul has just had an operation
King injured

That leaves us with Gallas, Bassong & Bongani

I think todays team selection tells us a lot about why we are having problems in the transfer market. We have a massive game on wednesday night which realistically we have to win to keep top 4 aspirations alive. The cup is nice but it is the perfect opportunity to use our squad and keep key players fresh particularly when Bale is injured. However Harry does not seem to trust players outside of his top 13/14 hence no jj corluka cranky etc. This lack of trust I think is coming through into Harrys view of our transfer targets - if he cant trust his squad members how difficult must it be for him to feel comfortable going for overseas players he has never had contact with. i think thats why he keeps trying to sign either players he has previously managed or players he has seen year after year in the prem. To me (and I am a massive Harry fan) this is a massive problem for us in the transfer market and is shown by Harry failing to be decisive about signing players outside of his comfort zone.

King and Woody should have been sent to the glue factory together 2 seasons ago. At the least, whenever King is fit, he's a sub. Not in and out of the team.

what we should do is get into the champions league, with a squad regarded as the strongest in the league....Then sit back and tickle our balls in congratulations while the others improve.

then sell/loan a load of these squad players and not replace them, and then finally complain we have no players. That way we may be able to one day dream of losing 4-0 to fulham

that sounds like a plan... make sure Harry and Levy don't read that, just in case...

Could well have a point.

I have tried to work out his misplaced loyalties and nervousness in the foriegn transfer market and it could well be what you have suggested.

The thing that makes little sense about the Parker move today is, surely if we were still chasing Parker, we'd have included it in the Keane move or at the very least made mention of it, even if they just told us to do one. Unless we were that desperate that we just wanted Keane out and signed before potentially rocking the boat

------

maybe it was part of Levy's negotiation with Wham. They pay us a loan fee - we let them look like big men who turn down our offer for their talisman. Gold - did say Levy had negotiated hard?!
