This was POTL the other day:

who Phantom of the Lane
date 24/01/11
site COYS

We're not done yet.

When have we ever been done before the last second of the window?

Non cryptic- We need a couple of things to happen before something happens if ya get ma drift

That bit at the end is what made me think of Benzema earlier as soon as the Adebayor thing was done.
Similar things were said 2 summers ago regarding all of Madrid's Dutch plalyers. Nothing happened.

VDV arrived last summer from Madrid when no hints or suggestions were made.

Yes, I imagine having lived in France, someone like Benzema will have little idea regarding exactly what London might be like, probably as complete a mystery to him as a city like Sunderland.

Remy came to Stoke in the summer and met the officials....where is he now?

That has been well accepted to be a deal that only came up on deadline deal.

Why are you going out of your way to try and prove adiepf a fraud?

POTL posted cryptic, whether that was intended we'll never know and can't read into everything that may just be typed out of brevity. Get real. Adiepf brought us this scoop, and I would like to thank him :) (please tell me the secret details ;) )

I meant more the club, and perhaps some of the exclusive housing near the training ground. I'm not sure the Tottenham neighbourhood would particularly win over a prospective signing.

Kalinic Dan?

Has all the tools IMO - think he'll develop into a great player.

He said no deal details about Benzema.

It does still apply that:

"i dont know that anythings changed on suarez..."

doesn't chime with the very strong statements made. Something must have changed, particularly as Ajax have struck a very determined stance on Liverpool's offer and demanded that any offer be finalised by tomorrow.

Benzema is most definitely suited for our system and with the quality he has this is drool stuff.

He's got ability in abundance.

Not to piss on anyones chips, but I really don't rate Benzema.

From what I have seen of him and Suarez over the last couple of years I would agree with you and I would much prefer Suarez. But I remember the CL game a couple of months ago betwee RM and Ajax and Benzema easily had the better game of the two which makes me think maybe?

Shouldn't you just be grateful he posts what he hears? He doesn't choose the info. He hears, he posts. End of story.

Nor me, rather have Suarez......

Nah, fuck it, I couldn't care less who we buy!
As long as we buy a bloody striker, especially after all this malarky!

Benzema is quality. He would be a big hit and a no brainer. There is always the question mark whether Suarez can do it in a big league.

Many players fail at Real Madrid and bounce back. VDV, Sneijder, Robben for eg.

Truth is we need a Benzema type, and a Suarez. I really want Suarez, I think he's a perfect fit for our bunch of pussies. He'd give us a bit of Tevezness up front.

If we could sign Diarra too I'd let Bomber come round and rape my dog (it's safe, she's just been "done". And donate £150 to SC of course.

I've made no attempt to prove that.

I've referenced the disparities between the historical information given regarding players likely to sign from Madrid, and what the actual outcome was.

You need to withdraw that statement.
