No one would if you'd have to learn the premiership with Dawson at your side.

I don't think that was in the script. But whilst Dawson can be a dozy twat, he actually does the basics much better, so I can see why Ramos preferred him to Kaboul—the lesser of two evils. And to be fair, as long as Dawson has King or Woody to hold his hand he's OK. Happy with him as No.3 (but happier with him as No. 4 if we get Meira).

According to SSN, Kaboul has agreed personal terms with Sunderland and will be having a medical tomorow morning.

Given the likes of Newcastle & Aston Villa were reportedly very interested in our quartet, I can only assume that the reports of the mackems splashing the cash around (barcodes' fashion) are correct.

Good luck to all our departing players. They may help turn Sunderland into a mid-table club.

I wonder if we've included a sell-on clause for Kaboul given he's the youngest of the quartet, and clearly the one with most potential to become a top player?

The lad had potential, but being photographed in McDonalds and the comments attributed to him probably didn't help.

Shame, would have liked him to have developed, guess we'll have to see it from afar.

We'll probably look on Kaboul in 4-5 years as the one who got away.

I think he has a big future ahead of him.

I'm guessing there's a fairly decent sell-on clause included with the deal.

I agree. His first season as a young player in a totally different league and he gets sold on? Seems harsh to me.

Perhaps Ramos and Poyet know something we don't. Well i bloody hope so anyway

any mention of a figure?

Not in any of the tinternet articles no.

A WUM on 606 has quoted £7m is the transfer fee plus 25% of any sell on (not profit) i.e. if in future he gets sold for £10m we get £2.5m extra (not £10m-£7m = £3 * 25% = £0.75m)

At times his positioning was woeful this season...so woeful that I wonder if Juande thought it wasn't ever going to improve to a Premiership level.

Plus on top of that he's mouthed off about the club...so I'll be relatively glad to see the back of him.

His biggest problem is that he needs to learn how to clear the ball instead of farting about with it for too long and letting opponents close him down!

Makes a mockery of our youth policy imo.

For once we agree, consider what we paid for him it does make you wonder how they got it so wrong. I mean at the time we were linked with him there were several match reports on COYS that stated his weaknesses would be badly exposed in the prem and they were right.
