I was down yesterday as it was a huge game. If we won then we just might have battled to 4th.

I feel it is a long shot now and with Townsend playing it'll go into row Z.

However, there have been positives this season. We've had our 1st cup final in 6 years and seen some home grown talent emerge in a big way.

We can still have a good season but yesterday's result stopped it from being very good.

You can't have watched the prem much mate. There are shocks and upsets the end of every season.

There are shocks and upsets at the start and middle point of every season too, that doesn't prove that shit teams suddenly become better at the latter stages. Sure, the likes of Wigan have staged incredible come-backs, but I'd suggest those teams stand out because they are the exception rather than the rule. Most teams who are shit for 2/3 of the season, remain shit for the final 1/3 of the season.
If you can prove otherwise, other than patronising off-the-cuff comments about how I don't watch the PL (which is obviously BS), I'm all ears.

Surely you understand backs against the wall and all that, nothing to lose, etc.

Its always been the case that it is harder to play relegation threatened teams at the end of the season than mid table teams playing for pride.

Seriously mate, Amo is more than enough on this site. Can't be doing with you as well.

We disagree.

Not going trawling through stats.

Don't care enough to.

It's not always been the case. It's always been the commonly held belief. I'd genuinely be interested to know if there was any evidence to back this up, personally I doubt it. Like @thinktank though, I'm not gonna go trawling through stats!

You also assume that every team other than those threatened with relegation are 'mid table teams playing for pride', which is patently not true. Some teams, like, you know, Spurs, might be challenging for CL/EL. Some teams are even challenging for the title.

before the season started i said we could not get top 4. I felt 6th was the best we could get. And that is probably where we will end up.

What i did not expect this season was a cup final and so much positivity about the young players coming through

Bring on the summer i say, let Poch tinker with the squad a bit. We did not really get going until a goof third into the season.
Next season could see a proper top 4 challenge

Leicester: last 6 games they've lsot 4 and drawn 2
Burnley: Won1, drawn 2, lost 3
Villa: Won their last 2 but lost the other 4
Newcastle: Won1, drawn 2, lost 3

Don't see any reason we can't get a good points tally out of them.

We need to stop being so easy to score against. Silly errors & self destruction are costing us. That & our genuine lack of match winners, but hey we knew this season wasn't going to be easy. Just hope we don't lose Lloris during the summer, don't think anyone else (bar Kane) is indespencible.

Those teams at the bottom we still have to play will look at their fixture list and will consider us as potential prey. We have proved many times this season that if teams are prepared to work hard at shutting down Eriksen and Kane then we are toothless. All of them will be looking to do that and nick a goal and then defend deep.

Easy games for us? Don't bet your house on us.

On the other hand they might actually have a go at us, which would almost certainly lead to their downfall.

Exactly.

I think Leicester will come and have a proper go this Saturday. They're running out of games and need to starting picking up a serious rate of points to have any hope.

Burnley away will be tough, but again that will suit us as they'll come at us.

Villa under Sherwood will definitely have a go to. They could hurt us actually but I'd still fancy us to outscore them.

Newcastle are just a shambles really, I really fancy us to win that. Burnley away looks tougher IMO.

Next 4 rounds of PL:

I know we lost. I know we played like crap. But please stop announcing the utter failure of our entire season because of it.

How long have you been on this forum? It's par for course.

What pisses me off though are those posters who only appear when we lose. It's almost as if they take pleasure in it.

Sunderland did it last year. They had Utd, City and Chelsea in their remaining 6 games. They were dead and buried. They drew at City, won at Utd and narrowly lost at Chelsea but somehow stayed up.
Burnley might be this years escape artists. They've just beaten City to start with and look the inform team at the bottom and one I'd rather avoid.
