I thought it was time for him to move on when he went .

But he may well have learned from his HSV and Ajax experiences .

Just another candidate to consider .

First time I've thought of Coyle...and it has some appeal.

I like Jol, but what did we win under him? OK we got to 5th twice, but we have moved on since, and as sumone else here has said, lets not tarnish the nice memories we have of Jol by inviting him back. I voted no.

We had some great moments under Jol, but wasn't happy with him when tactical skills etc. from the manager were really needed. He was good as long as everything went well, but IMO he didn't have balls to change things when the changes had to be done. Perhaps he has grown as a manager after he was kicked out from Spurs, but anyway I do not want him back.

I'M fairly certain we'll enjoy Moriniho at the Lane at some point. Hopefully next.

Absolutely.

And on a similar note, I'm pretty much convinced that I'm on course for a Nobel prize next year, and my cat's destined to be the next Chief Scientist at the LHC.

What makes you think Owen Coyle would take us to the next level?

I'm not saying he wouldn't and he has done a good job. But it is an out-of-the-box way of thinking which is always good.

1) I've used to prefere British Manager who used to work in England rather abroad, in case how to read games, and how to treat such places like Fratton Park, Reebok, Creven Cottage, etc.. unlike who like Ramos & Benitez etc as both treat those places as easy games, so this point would rule out must fergions coachs.

2) as for Martin Jol, who did well for us, but despite some good come-backs in 2nd half, but i'm sure we lost a lot of wins in 2nd half under him, also his teams concede so much ( including HSV ) , his character don't help as he is very kind, we already lost Carrick, Berbatov and the later refused to warm up when ordered !! this isn't good enough for top club.

3) then if we looked at Mourinho, Moyes, Eriksson, Mancini, O'Neil, McLeich etc.., they play crap football, they are too defensive, at least Coyle already did well at Burnely with very limited resources, also improved Bolton a lot with good football ball there ( they were poor under Megson ), despite the fact he didn't spend any thing, if you look at his style or his signing, he is different that the likes of Polis or Allardyce or Hodgson or Hughes etc, he give an eye for skills & techinque .. not just physical side.

I seem to remember he was unable to prevent us conceding stupid goals from set pieces for nearly his entire tenure, he had a mercenary streak (see his flrtation with fulham in order to force a better deal at Ajax), and seemed, despite his jovial manner, to have a set of favorites in the squad and left those outside to rot in the reserves.

So having been a huge fan, and being quite upset when he left, my opinion has since changed.

Harry seems to be able to do the 'simple' things well, get a team playing to their strengths, and keeps bringing fringe players back to excellent effect.

So I voted NO...
