Martin Jol is doing well at Ajax,Chris Hughton is doing very well at Newcastle and Damien Comolli has just joined Liverpool.

Perhaps we had the DREAM TEAM and just didn't know it!

This week's Irony Prize goes to…

It wouldn't happen though surely. So it's pointless even thinking of it.

Martin jol back, I tell you what why not get Christian Gross back along with Ardilles.... Sorry Jol is always a bottler, I never rated the man. Nice guy, but lacked the balls ... Still remember the pathetic game against Chelsea 3 -1 up and takes of Berbatoss !

Why are we looking backwards.....

Since Harry took over, we are the talk of europe..

If and when Harry leaves, we should be looking at getting a top man in.Jol would be a step backward...

great bloke, but lets keep it real.

Personally I would like to see 'Arry finish the job he's started with a league win and a couple of cups including the Champions however should he leave for the England job then Martin's my man unless Mourinho becomes available.

Yes, this.

I've voted yes simply because I loved the time that he was at Spurs.

He has shown since that he can get a team playing good football and competing for a title at the same time.

People like to bring up the Chelsea cup game when we drew after going 3-1 up but if my memory serves me correctly we had Dawson and Davenport centre back that day and Ghaly in central midfield. It was a lot to ask them to beat the league champions however well we started.

Never wanted him to leave, our best manager that I can remember

Genuinely unhappy witht eh way ot was done/that it was done. But it has been done and we are on the up and up.

I love Martin Jol and Martin Jol loves me, I miss him, want to see him bear hug a Lennon or a Modric

Interesting result on the voting thus far. I'd like to see another poll, Who do you like more, Redknapp or Jol?

Fazza, that 'Sparta...Banana' thang is FCUKing hilarious:grin:

Martin Jol back at the lane if Harry leaves for the England job? Yes please.

Possibilty of it happening when Levy is still in charge? Zero. Jol wouldn't want to work for Levy again, and Levy is far too proud to go hand in cap asking him if he could please come back (giving Jol the perfect opportunity to tell him where to stick his offer).

This is tha absolute bootom line.

I voted no. I love the big man and he's got a great p.r. image, but for two nagging reasons it's a no.

1 He was seriously (allegedly) thinking of jumping ship for the Toon. Who's to say that wouldn't happen again for real if another big club came in for him.

2 The law of "never go back." If you're loved and revered somewhere, especially if the manner of your departure elevates you almost to martyr / legend status, to return gives you nothing more than an opportunity to tarnish that.

I feel that No.2 (no wise cracks:grin:) is the particularly apt.

^^^And this.

I'd like to see BMJ brought back to play up front. Can't be any worse than what we've currently got!

 Ladies and germs, so early, and already we have post of the day Eek

Yep, as much as I loved BMJ, once a player, coach, tea lady has moved on, they shouldn't really come back. It'll never be the same and tarnish the good memories.

See Keegan with Newcastle, Robbie Keane with us, etc

I like him so much but he isn't the one who can take us to the next level, i would prefere Owen Coyle instead ..

What makes you think Owen Coyle would take us to the next level?

I'm not saying he wouldn't and he has done a good job. But it is an out-of-the-box way of thinking which is always good.

I love BMJ but wouldn't want him to take over if Harry was to move on.

I also agree about Owen Coyle, i've mentioned I'd like to see him get the job in the future before. I hope Harry stays for years, but if the FA do cave to the pressure and try to get Harry, our next manager has be chosen as a long term option. Coyle likes his teams to play the kind of football that we like at the Lane, he seems to be able to get the best out of players and generally is not a twat many other managers.

It goes without saying we would all like a Mouriniho, but in reality if we plump for a good youngish manager we may be rewarded long term.

Would have loved to have seen him deck Wenger that time.

No thanks, though. Harry is the better manager imo, they both have their faults but you can't argue with the way Harry has turned the club around.

if Cliff Jones reckons he's the best manager we've had since Bill, I'm not going to tell him he's talking cock.

Sir Bill was happy too though. Or quite possibly that was a ploy too.

Would we, though?

He's the master tactician, to be sure, but his sides don't play the 'Spurs Way'; Chelsea did play some fantastic football when he was the boss, but they tended to do it when they'd been put on the back foot—see our Guy Fawkes' win in 2006 and the 3-3 at the Bridge a few months later. It was only when his percentage tactics failed that he went gung-ho.
