Racism isn't confined to the older generation.
My boy played in a Jewish team in the Watford League and his team were subjected to on field snide comments every week. They were a very good team and were told to keep their cool and let their feet do the talking.
After one game where the abuse was really sickening I faced up their manager who was really apologetic. Our boys had won and after the game he kept his boys in the dressing room and gave them an almighty bollocking and made them come out and apologise to our boys.
From then on the word must have spread thought the league and the abuse declined rapidly.
Racism in any form must be stood up to and the younger generation where there is more assimilation and mixed marriages are hopefully better educated and will be more tolerant as time goes by.

Totally agree.

And just to add- we don't have to accept racism when an old person says it. You can still question their views- I have done this a few times lately and found them to be more shocked at being called out on it- especially football fans- what clubs haven't had great black players?

And back in the room. What are the Wycombe fans saying?

https://gasroom.org/discussion/2671...ld-injured-lloris-playing-like-coco-the-clown

They're mostly saying that we'll rotate heavily like we did for the Villa game and so if they turn up and score first they can beat us.

They seem quite confident but as that's largely down to how many of our first team they expect us to rest, that's pretty reasonable - especially as they've been pretty handy away from home in the league.

Also, going 16 matches unbeaten with 12 of them wins inspires a bit of confidence, even if they're going up against a top side.

Nothing Racist !!!

Essentially it seems to be:
Yay got my tickets
Boo I didn't get a ticket
Has anyone got spare tickets
And transport stuff

Booooooorrrrrrring!

Can we talk about racism again instead?

Really? That's a pretty good record. Let's hope the side we put out treat them with respect and do a professional job on them. We could without being overconfident, the victim of a giant killing, and having it rammed down our throats for decades to come. Port Vale anyone?

Vile behaviour from the city fans there. And even more cowardly behaviour from the scum bag who asked the guy to stop filming, claiming that you needed permission to film in public. What an absolute mug. Here's a link to a non Daily Mail report for those who'd like to see the video but don't want to give them the click through traffic. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...ews/abuse-spurs-fans-manchester-tram-12499209

Honestly it's worth a watch because the guy sounds like a right scum bag, but also a special brand of stupid. And that's besides the Anti-Semitic stuff, he honestly sounds like the kind of person that comes up to you in the street and tells you he desperately needs a couple of quid for his bus ride home to see his dying nan, because he's lost his walle. But it's clear as day that in reality he's just going to the off license to buy some own brand special brew.

Has David Baddiel been in the media yet to explain why it's all our fault?

Manchester anti-Semitic football chants video probed

"We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage to contact police as soon as possible.

The guy on the video posted over at Bluemoon earlier begging everyones forgiveness and apologising. Says he got caught up in the moment didn't mean it the way it came out, but was intended as banter.

OK First off all I would like to apologise to all the Jewish people around the world some of whom I class as my friends (maybe not for much longer)secondly to all my family , Thirdly I would like to apologise to all of you here on Blue Moon , there really is nothing I can say to excuse this . I was caught up in the moment and stupidly joined in with this chanting , It was aimed incorreclyt in response to the Spurs fans on the tram I Apologise to them also . It was meant as Football banter and in no way racsist or hate I am extremely embarrassed about all this . I have been in touch with GMP and no doubt will get the book thrown at me deservedly so no doubt many on here will say . AS a life long blue I am ashamed to have let everyone down including myself . I ask forgiveness though probly don't deserve it . It was stupid and I regretted it the moment I did it people who know me will no I am not a bigot or a racsist once again I apologise to all I have offended

That's ok then. He says he's not a racist and he's sorry. I think the club should pay the fine in his behalf and forgive him.

Oh, I agree with your sentiment entirely. Just surprised that he's gone on to the main Man City messageboard, confessed and apologised - better than most in my opinion, and not something I could Imagine West Ham or Chelsea fans doing.......in fact, I'm pretty sure they'd deny all, claim their innocent and then tell us its our own fault for associating with the Jewish community in the first place!

It's easy to say that once you've been caught but at least he's got the balls to come out and apologise I guess..

I'm going to take it at face value at the moment. That post might make a lot of other fans who acquiesce to find the courage to alter their behaviour instead of joining in.

I've heard racist shit at WHL on more than one occasion. Once I took a girlfriend to her first footy game. She is Anglo/Brazilian and has mixed raced cousins. Old boy sat next to her, he was like 65+ says under his breath but loud enough for us to hear "fucking useless n******" at one of our players. Shocking but that generation is still rife with racists unfortunately. Another time I was sat in the East and as the final whistle went and we'd lost one of last games under Harry I heard a bloke behind me say to his mate "Hope he gets the sack and takes all those black ***** with him, we need to get some white players back at the club". He obvioulsy didn't think I'd heard him but I turned around and asked him "what did you just say?" He looked all sheepish said "nothing" and disappeared into the crowd. He was younger than me so early 30s at the time. I was shocked tbh, although sadly not that surprised.

lol, we threw a guy over the wall in the middle of the east stand for saying similar shit.. i miss the 80's and being young enough to get a kicking, but not get charged by the police.

Not only that, but he says that he turned himself in to the police. His apology is obviously sincere if that's the case and he deserves great credit.
