Always have a Spur of the Match poll in ratings thread!
OP's fault, but he's a fucking twat anyway, never liked him.
Bet there's no chance he's asked a couple of mods to put one in either, probably just logged off thinking he's done a good job. Idiot.

that's no bad thing though. but in a team whose attacking play is seemingly put out out by a wet blanket of a headcoach, he's going to look shit, isn't he. let's face it. these are good players. with their bootlaces tied together and a joker going around nicking studs.

I wouldn't have paid 18 bar for Poyet though.

I went through the first half of last weekend's game again to analyse our attacking play, Bear, and I couldn't understand why he was taking up positions so far ahead of the play.
It's one of the arguments I had of playing Sandro and Paulinho in that Sandro should release the shackles off Paulinho's play so he can make those runs beyond Soldado and very difficult to mark.

Whether its confidence or indeed instruction, he hasn't done this nowhere near enough but he's the only one of our central contingent who has that in their locker.

I'm struggling though to see what role Dembele is going to fulfil going forward with Capoue back.

Overcompensating for the lack of players pushing up maybe?

I know what you mean, for us to get the best out of him we need him making the runs once he's released the ball. Although that may be a bit too fluid for AVB.

While I'm not disputing that Krul had a great game (he did) I can't help but think we made him look better than he actually played with poor finishing

A lot of our shots were hit straight at him more than him having to make world class saves

This is why a guy like Lamela is more useful, he will look for runners where as Townsend is just cutting into the space that Paulinho is looking to run into.. or Townsend crossing from the left for runners into the box..
It was better today but still not as balanced as it could have been with the players available.

I've said it 100 times already but I, like you believe Townsend to be more of a problem than anything else.

Agree. The three best chances were Eriksen. Paulinho and Kaboul. The first two were straight at Krul, but Kaboul's was the worst IMO. All he has to do is get his foot under the ball and flick it over Krul, but he hits it low and straight at Krul who is virtually on the floor.

His best save was the Soldado header in the first half and the deflection from our free kick.

There isn't one cm combination we've used as of yet that has the right balance, in my opinion. I dislike the lack of steel in Paulinho's game. And I dislike this business of him loitering around the opposition's D when we are faffing about with the ball in the middle third.

I think the biggest flaw in this stupid fucking set-up is a striker who cannot play with his back to goal.

To be fair a few in the first half when the sun was shining in his eyes were pretty good..

Cutting in i think he flatters to deceive, hitting the byline on the left then we may just get an end product, and also tie up another fullback, which Sigs and Lennon don't do on that side.

I'll get slated for this but I've been unimpressed by him in the majority of games. The only game I thought he genuinely looked threatening and dangerous was the first half against Chelsea.

I want to know what those two twats sitting beside AVB with books and dossiers in their laps actually fucking do?
Does he give them homework during the game?

I have said in other threads that Soldado was bought because of the theory of AVB's "system" rather than what actually works in the EPL.
