I wonder if the stripes will be something similar to this?

Who says Nike have had a say in it? Who's to say we haven't decided on a change?

I would doubt that we will change the logo this quickly after the re brand.
And the new stadium already has the badge made up with out the shield. Why would we brand the stadium and the shirts differently?

and noone has said anything on it, its only appeared on fan mock ups

It would be a shield around the logo, they wouldn't be changing the actual logo permanently.

Its a bit like why doesnt AIA change their colour to blue.

Its about brand identity, i just dont see any benifit in the club adding a sheild to the badge short turm or not

They would actually be attempting to strengthen the brand by adding a historic / heritage link to it i.e. We had the badge on a shield in the 50s/60s.

Check out photos of our double winning team ... yep, club logo on a shield exactly like is being proposed.

Someone at the club, and not the kit manufacturers, seems keen on recent kits linking back to points in our history as several different kit manufacturers have now done similar things with our kit.

The Nike kits will be out of their teamwear templates. They dont change for even their biggest customers. They won't change for us.

Stripes down side is an Adidas staple. Will not see that on a Nike kit.

Well i'm going based on what the article says and there's nothing to say that Nike do something different for us if we asked them to. For all we know most clubs might be happy with the teamwear templates but Levy might have said be original for us. Let's not forget that Nike would have pitched to us to get us take them on as we could have quite easily gone to Adidas or another sportswear provider.

I wasn't talking about stripes down the sleeves, I was talking about under the arm, down the sides of the body, adidas don't ever put stripes there, as far as I've seen.

Anyway I was largely speculating.

Sorry mate whilst I agree that is what they may do it is exactly what Adidas have done this season - Real Madrid and Man U have stripes down the sides of the body

If we are going to put a shield around our logo, then i think somebody should have told the stone mason that just done a giant cockeral for the new stadium.

They didn't put a shield around the roof cockerels in the fifties, it would only ever be for the kit.

How would the historic link strengthen the brand?

I get the kit having some link to our history, but its always been part of the design, no the logo.

As we will be playing away from the lane, and out of the tottenham area i dont think the club should be changing the badge as well.

Our bage would also have to be smaller to accommodate the sheild and still be with in the rules on logos and sponsors.
