I think this summer will be one of the most active and interesting in our history. I don't see much point in keeping a player who doesn't track back and can't take a good corner. Alot of defenders have worked him out this season. In any case, he won't want to sit on the bench at his age "as back up". If Ramos can get £8-£9m for him I think he will take it.

That is incredible,

From now on before we sign any player we should take them out and do a corner taking test on them.

i have to admit i skimmed through his post. i thought that was his opinion....fair enough. Even if lennon isn't good enough he would make an excellent back up to whoever we get to replace him. The more wingers we have the better.....because at the moment we only have 1.

Can you really see him wanting to spend time on the bench? Defoe didn't and neither will Lennon I'd say.

If you don't think Lennon is good enough for us, I don't think you're good enough at watching him and us play and realising that we're very lucky to have him.

...er....yes!!!!!!..... there is no way Lennon practices and practices corners in training. You dont get the feeling he stays behind to do extra training if he has an important engagement at a London disco.
...would little Lennon get in the Arsenal team? No.
I'm not bashing the bloke, but there are certain players who everyone looks at through rose tinted glasses and he is one of them. admittedly he's very exciting some of the time, but he doesn't give 100% every game like Keane, King, Woodgate.

LOL!...."not very good at watching"!....you stay in your armchair and let us season ticket holders have an opinion.
If he's that good and invaluable then he would have played against PSV

you are saying he's better than Cole and Wright-Phillips?...maybe he was 12-18 months ago when we were worried that he was going to get snapped up, but i don't hear him being linked with anyone. he had his brief chance with England and he blew it. he's now way down the England pecking order. maybe i'm wrong.

Not better than Cole, but better than Wright-Philips.

Both are 6 years older, I might add.

Just for that, your opinion is worthless to me.

Does he have to be our corner taker then? not keeping a player because his corners may not be upto scratch is the most comical thing I've ever heard, ridiculous, totally ridiculous.

You have no idea what his training schedule is, whether he stays behind to do extra training or not, whether he's even allowed to stay behind to do extra training as the coaching staff may feel rest is more important at this stage.

And you certainly have no idea what his social life is like.

My issue with lennon whether he and us as a team are getting the best out of him in the way we play. Now I am not saying we should set ourselves up to play exclusively to lennons strengths but, how often do you see one of our other players play the ball inside the FB and CB for lennon to run onto. At the moment lennon is getting the ball when he is static which makes him easier to mark. When he gets the ball and he is already running it's a different story entirely.

As for the person who said Lennon doesn't stay behind for extra training. Well I clearly remember that Davids used to take the younger lads including Lennon at the time for extra work after training when he was here, not sure it's happening now though.

I'd say that about most members of our squad.

Not many of Everton's team would get into our squad, let alone first team, however they are better than us.

Instead of suggesting our players are shit as individuals, we need to question wether we're getting the best out of them as a team. Quite frankly I don't believe we are & that's up to Juande & Gus.

So, just supposing Ramos did decide that Lennon wasn't part of his plans for next year, would your comment above still stand, so far as the manager was concerned?

"don't believe we are getting the best out of our team"? whaa'? we've won a cup and we were unlucky to get knocked out the UEFA Cup!!!!......credit where credit is due!!!!!....Ramos has done an AMAZING job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......i'm all for freedom of expression, but if anyone says they know better than Juande (and that we should build a team around Lennon) they should be put away in a darkened padded cell.....with their I Love Lennon posters on their walls.. in brail!!!

Come off it. If we were getting the best out of the players we have we'd have been 4th at least.

Exactly look at the parnterships in our team. The only two I would say that work really well would be King and Woodgate and Berbatov and Keane. Because we play mostly 4-4-2 I see it very much as partnerships. The FBs and Wingers need to work well together. Look over the last couple of seasons I don't think Chimbo and Lennon work well on the right and well we all know the sorts of problems we had on left until Lee and Steed hit some sort of understanding. Then there is the mindfield of the central midfield positions in which Zoko doesn't really suit JJ's style of play and visa versa.

It's something that has caused us to be inconsistant because although we have players that on there day are individually very good and can wins us games. It's as a team when those individuals don't perform we struggle.

All that being said I am confident that Ramos and Poyet will get us playing consistantly good football as a team even if that means shipping players out.
