Suprised so many don't rate Dumfries, sure someone like Porro would be better but Porro is probably very hard to get and Dumfries would be a good upgrade on Emerson/Doherty.
Fucking blows my mind too. I think Porro is MAYBE better than Dumfries, but they both have very similar goal and assist stats from last season, yet Dumfries was playing in a much tougher league. He's also physically more suited to the prem than Porro IMO.

Both would be excellent options IMO, but for me Dumfries just edges it over Porro.

Emerson scored 4 and got 10 assists in his 2 full years in La Liga, and that was from right back. If you're looking at stats then we may as well keep him. What I've seen from him in the world cup is what I see 90% of the time in in Serie A/Europe and that's someone with an engine but technically very average and so often frustrating.

I wouldn't dream of judging a player based on a couple of WC games. Kane and Son have both looked pretty poor by their usual standards at the WC so far.

I'm not judging it purely on stats, but you can't ignore them either, there's certainly no point going for a RWB that doesn't score and assist in a decent tier league.

He's been decent at Inter and like I said previously there's a discussion to be had as to who would be better at Spurs - him or Porro. But really these are the only two options at RWB that we should be seriously pursuing in Jan.

Gvardiol is different gravy! After that performance we stand no chance of getting him unless we breach the 100m plus bracket. What a player.

Dream on. Not bring sarcastic, just need reality check. And I know you are not stating that.
How times have changed.

In the summer we were expecting big moves for Bastoni, Maddison etc al.

The noises are sounding very different it now appears.

He's worth 80m no question.

He'll be at Chelsea with Nkuku next summer.

God I'm envious of those bastards.

Without CL? Not sure. They need to will need to qualify. He will have loads of suitors. Our ambition, we don’t deserve players like him.

Sign Gvardiol and Osimhen, whatever it takes. Need to have everyone wearing mask to complement Son.

The optimism that we had at the beginning of last summer, after qualifying for the CL, seems to have been completely trampled on.

CL means very little imo when it comes to Chelsea. They've pretty much tied up Nkuku without the guarantee of CL football. They pay the fee, the wages, the agents.

They get shit done to be fair.

Your tone supports my argument. Things really seemed to have changed.

You along with most and I, were creaming themselves with excitement last June. 300m in the kitty etc al.

Now you're questioning our ambition. Gutting.

Yes I did! 300 over two windows and such, it later came to be the case of excuses put out by certain elements in the club to hoodwink the fans. I am by nature very positive. Unfortunately that has been knocked out of me.

Nuts isn't it. We should still be optimistic now... glamour tie in the CL knockout ties against Milan, top 4 in the league comfortably ahead of Liverpool, Chelsea and United. Instead it feels miserable
