Wow interesting comments RE Timo by JJ

Yeah. I'm not sure how to interpret.

JJ has a poor opinion of Mitchell doesn't he? Is he saying there's a feeling at the club to ignore Mitchell because that would seem a little harsh considering it was Poch's call to bring in Jannsen and N'. Apparently.

Also, you can clearly see Werner is a top quality player.

Racking my brain trying to remember, it's like a blank patch in my memory, all i recall is the corner coming in and someone kneeing him square in the temple and he assumed the ol' sack of potatoes pose, out for the count. Think it might've nearly happened a second time later on that season too? Or did I make that up in my head?
not sure if this was posted, its from late last night

After reading it again from JJ - it seems like he is sarcastically replying "why would Paul sell us their best player when he doesn't like the club?"

JJ confirmed it was sarcastic on twitter.

It's really, really easy. JJ is saying that we have no chance at signing Werner, at least partly due to Paul Mitchell having lost no love for Spurs since getting canned by us.

This and the for-the-millionth-time confirmation that we won't be signing Rabiot has really tickled me. Anyone who believed that we were going to make these kind of signings was living in cloud cuckoo land.

If we carry on in the same vein it won't be long before we're playing like 'em either. ;)

Challenging for the title by selling our best player(s) lol

We don’t need names, countries, fees etc... a simple response to are we genuinely hopeful of bringing players in this window would suffice. If not, then let’s get back to focussing on the current season and backing the team.

We so aren't. Back to focussing on the current season.

One day excitement one day meltdown. This transfer window going to kill us all.

It was literally one day. Normal service is resumed.

Seriously, not a single piece of positivE transfer momentum (that was leaked/discussed by the ITKs) has actually come to fruition.

Something behind the scenes is going badly wrong and fairly soon it’ll bite us, if it hasn’t already.

JjSet clearly getting pissed off by other ITKs, making a point of coming back on 2 players isn’t something he has done much before.

Without outgoings this will be how it is in the summer too so no point getting your hopes up of any signings unless we end up selling certain first teamers who have been rumoured of being sold. The on the outskirt unwanted players aren’t going to raise enough to really do much in the market. Our strategy is putting us in a very awkward position with the post Neymar transfer fee inflation.

Has anyone noticed the trend in ITK? They start off all happy and positive and always post on here, the next stage is getting slightly negative before they reach their final stage - rarely post unless its to poo poo the rumours. I wish the club would keep them more positive.

I think its clear that we arent going to do anything worth mentioning and Im starting to understand why they said 'enjoy the ride while we can.'

Exactly I posted early on would happen. Give it a couple more days and the old "no one sells their best players in January" gets rolled out

Creative accounts. I don't know the terms of any of the deals but it wouldn't surprise me if the Dembele money was up front. IF for example we were after Timo then the money could well be split over the terms of the deal (say 4 years). There would not be a great deal of difference to find in terms of balance. Yes, Timo's wages would be more but in those terms we would be ok.

All this above is based on no facts and my knowledge of football finances being crap, like most in this thread.
