I think it's a perfectly reasonable thing to think. My initial thought was how unbelievably sad this news is, then I thought about the effect it might have on the team. It's only natural to think that. Obviously if it had been a first team player then the match may have been postponed possibly, whereas it won't now but the players will still be grieving over him.

Rip Ugo :(
Why don't we give it a few hours till we think about a game if football yeah?

Awful news. Saw news he'd been taken to hospital yesterday. Just turned tv on. Cant believe it. RIP Ugo. Thoughts to family and friends.

Awww. I heard he collapsed, reading that he died is just so sad. Going to be hard for the lads at the club and especially his family. Terrible.

Goes to show, heart conditions happen to the fittest of people.

Wonder if it was the same condition Muamba had/has.

I remember after that there was talk of players being tested more often. If it is the same condition, it is truly tragic that it has happened to Ugo who is a generation too late and perhaps coaches aren't afforded the same level of care.

I don't think it is unreasonable or in poor taste to think about tomorrow. Hopefully it will bring the fans/teams together with a good tribute and if the players are affected by it- as they must have all known him well enough- then so be it. The game and result really don't matter in the scheme of things.

There's a story in KUMB's (respectful) thread on Ugo Ehiogu that I thought worth sharing...

"When I was a kid, one of the local kid's mum died. Ugo knew my mate's old man and he came round to offer his condolences. Ugo persuaded my mate, who hadn't left the house for days, to get out to the local park in Harold Hill where we were having our regular kick about. Long story short, Ugo made a difference that day, and went out of his way to cheer up a distraught kid. He also let me nutmeg him and that was the one and only day I got to say "nuts - how ya feelin'?!" to a Premiership footballer."

A true gentleman. RIP Ugo. My condolences to all who knew you.

From the man himself. We get out there tomorrow and do what we do to pay respects to the man. Not for the result but to honour and pay tribute to Ugo.

No, under normal circumstances working people would be given time off work for such a tragic event. But the players won't be afforded that privilege, which seems unfair. How can they be expected to work when a colleague has just died?

Yep. It's going to effect everyone at the club ahead of tomorrow. Almost seems like they should move the game now.

Gonna be a very emotional day tomorrow
Agreed, Its a damn shame that due to the very predictable behaviour of our opponents fans tomorrow, i very much doubt Ugo will get the minutes silence he deserves.

Hertyid on coys posted a bit of info just now on what happens. Seems morbid to share it really but passing it over from there in good faith as we all are sad about what's happened.

Very sad. Has hit the club hard. Poch and Jesus ran over to him as soon as it happened. He was doing drills with the U23s and suddenly collapsed. He's fainted a couple of times during the last year and had loads of checks from the medical staff. No idea what's gone on here. RIP Ugo.

Minutes applause hopefully to drown out the wankers.
