I just think that unless there is an obscure reason back in time where he caused them grief which I am sure there isnt then they will do the right thing. Maybe I am trying to think the best of them.

Either way it will be a sad day tomorrow and hopefully we do him proud as a club.

They are Chelsea fans, they have shown countless times they need absolutely no reason to abuse.

I know we all take the piss out of Merson a lot on here because of his goon connections. But generally he's just a guy wearing his heart on his sleeve.

I'm sure a lot of his former team mates are very sad today, as by all account he was a nice guy, they've all likely lost a really good friend.
