Feel for Brighton - wonder who they will be getting in and how they are going to continue to build on what Potter is finally getting from them

The Premier League is a global brand, and it’s fans & players outside of England who’s made the league what it is today, why should we outside UK care about the Queen? The fixture list is already crazy as it is, don’t make it even worse

So talk is all sport is likely to be cancelled over the weekend.
and then next weekend for the funeral?

And then it's an international break!! If the next 2 games are postponed then the next league game is 1 October at the Death Star.

She was 96, what an absurd measure for someone that was going to die sooner or later.
An odd take - why bother when the country's monarch who is loved over the world dies...because she was old? God help any old people in your family ?

There's a post asking why the queen dying should affect football - whilst the game is worldwide, remember Tottenham is an English club in the end, we have to take cues from what is happening in this country. That's why the matches will likely be called off.

You don't have to care about the Queen. Noone is saying people out side (or inside) the UK have to.

But people can still be respectful of what is happening in the UK at the moment as we mourn the loss of a great woman.

There will be another day we can play this game

I am really saddened by how selfish some of you are being over the possibility of the games being called off. You may not care about our monarch dying because she wasn't your head of state, but Spurs are an English club, playing in an English league, with English officials and thousands of English staff who do care.

Shame on all of you that are complaining about the possibility of games being called off just because you don't care.

Apart from the very obvious sentimentality, there is also the actual practical reasons of police resources, barriers to be used etc of sporting events going ahead this weekend.

I was actually looking forward to the football, to see the respect paid to the Queen at each game, but I 100% understand the reasoning in postponing this weekend.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the rest of the country going back in for work?

Regarding the death of HM the Queen.

Don't make the mistake of thinking this is Twitter or one of the other shithole social media outlets where you can freely air your spite. We won't have it. We expect better and we're quite happy to lose any one of you who decides to show a lack of respect, not just to The Queen, then to your fellow Spurs fans and SC.

If you have nothing good to say, then don't say anything at all. There's a debate to be had about the monarchy in general, but right now is not the time. Have some decency.

It's embarrassing that we have to ask.

Spot on, I don't think playing football is disrespectul but logistically it seems almost impossible.
