They've played four of the top eight teams in six games, suggesting they are playing teams in form, as well has two of he top 5 teams last year.
Yes but are they not in the top 8 teams because they beat Utd ?

Heard a funny story about Anthony apparently Ajax would have sold for much less, but they knew United were desperate so just fleeced them
The story at the beginning of the summer was that they were happy to sell as they were worried about having a David Neres situation.

They refused to sell him for 30-40m and his value plummeted.

As soon as United became interested this opinion changed because they knew Ten Hag was adamant about getting him.

Not sure I am buying this defence of Rodgers.

I know it's a rough situation at Leicester but they still have a decent team.

Truth is, Rodgers is completely incapable of addressing a slide. He proved it at Liverpool.

There's a couple of good years, followed by a fall off and then slump to which he cannot change. It's irreversible and only ends when he's fired.

He doesn’t play in the same position as Dier
Both central defenders, just because one plays in the centre of a back three and the other sits on the bench doesn’t mean they can’t both play in Southgate’s back four.

I listen to the BBC Leicester bits sometimes and they’ve been saying for weeks that he’s waiting for a pay off. Supposedly he has fallen out with Castagne and Soyuncu and he’s publicly called out the owners over the summer transfer window. Thing his negative vibes have transmitted to the players tbh.

In that case they need to fire him ASAP

They've only ever given him money from player sales their net spend is like for like, I think it was only last summer where he spent more than what they sold. But their wages to turnover is one of the highest in the league.

But he's bottled two champions leage finishes and they were pretty poor against Roma in the semis last year. He can't get over the finish line.

This summer they couldn't shift players, to be fair we've struggled and only managed mostly loans out. And when they did sell it was late in the window.

I think they are back to midtable mediocrity

What would have happened if Trossard was fouled off the pitch behind the line rather than in the box?

Edit Someone emailed the IFAB to get clarification as there didn't seem to be precedence or clear jurisprudence on the matter.

That's old. It's in the laws now.

If, when the ball is in play:

a player commits an offence against a match official or an opposing player, substitute, substituted or sent-off player, or team official outside the field of play

...play is restarted with a free kick on the boundary line nearest to where the offence/interference occurred; for direct free kick offences, a penalty kick is awarded if this is within the offender’s penalty area.

I read somewhere the other day that Utd offered Eriksen 43M to make sure they got him instead of us? If it’s a 5 year deal that’s what 165,000 a week. Over 280,000 if a 3 year deal! Considering no transfer fee it’s not that extravagant.
That there is exactly what is wrong with modern day football. Absolutely bonkers money.

Report today was a £120m loss due to be announced shortly. The rumours are that they can’t afford to sack him.

I’m sure they’ll find the cash if things get bad enough.

Fella on TS now saying the dressing room is fractured and players all disappeared after Southampton rather than staying in the bar for a drink as a team.

Moaning that he's got no investment but refusing to select those two (plus Vestergaard) whilst playing Ndidi at centre half.
The actions of a man trying to get the boot imo.

Amazing to think it's barely been more than a year since the footballing world were questioning why Rodgers would move from Leicester to Spurs. He must be regretting that now? At the time I would have taken Rodgers but now I wouldn't go near him. I think he may just have cost himself another crack at managing a big 6 club as it's clear the same is happening at Leicester as what happened at Liverpool and his teams just aren't good enough defensively.

For me it's not even the on-pitch failure so much as the stunning lack of professionalism from him.
