I see Villa are buying Mings from Bournemouth for £25M ... That puts into perspective just how much we’ll lose on Tony should he go this summer. I don’t think Levy will entertain such a clause again... and clearly didn’t see the inflation in the price of decent defenders.
I'm not sure he would command much more than £40m had he not had the clause considering his age.

Not replacing Toby and not upgrading the full back area is crazy we are buying all these midfielders and expecting them not only to produce more goals but help reduce the amount we concede.

Jan picks up a bad injury we got Foyth right back rose left back Sanchez and dier . That ain’t going to win us things.

Can’t lose Toby and not replace him madness !!

The difference between the popular links right now is we wanted Ndombele, Lo Celso and Sessegnon in regardless (same goes for Clarke as a future prospect) of outgoings.

As soon as Tripps or Toby leave I'm sure names will start to pop up in the press. Until then we are unlikely to make a move.

Multiple ITK have said we'll buy an RB/CB if those players leave, and no-one has said otherwise (Trix's was opinion, and Ali Z didn't specify positions).

I'm hoping Toby ends up seeing the final year out and we get Saliba in for next year.

Totally agree. I do wonder if the lack of links to CBs might have something to do with Dier and an assessment of his position (or whether he’ll be sold and those funds might be funnelled towards a CB. Pure conjecture on my part but Diers’ position in the squad seems to seriously lack clarity atm).

Any good squad probably has a couple of utility players to be fair. I do think we've got some targets lined up at CB and RB, but are asking them to wait. I've noticed Saliba hasn't moved yet, and even Andersen to Lyon hasn't quite happened yet for example (although looks likely).

Anybody else seen the latest video of Toby back in training? Training on his own, away from the squad and not a Spurs crest in sight in his video.

Players just arrived today for the first day of training. Dele was running on the treadmill the other day with no Spurs gear, thoughts on that?

Players who were on international duty don't have to report back for a few more days. It is optional.

So I am guessing that like Dele and Kane, Toby has opted to take the full time off.

Interesting that Dier didn't take the extra time, even though he was due it.

I think he's been doing this training in his own time, not with the club.
He's just ensuring he's in top condition when he gets back, as he's a proper professional, with a great attitude.
I'm not sure when everyone is due back at the club but Jan was in Belgium watching the start of the Tour de France.
Dele has also been training whilst on holiday, when he's been sober enough to stand :sneaky::LOL:

dele was running on the treadmill while he was on holiday, why would he have spurs gear on in that instance. the toby video is totally different to the one dele posted.

Cant see Toby leaving spurs for which ever club who coughs up 25mill.
And it seems quiet from the top clubs I must say.

Probably me clutching at straws but hopefully one might be Toby!

There’s a good point about new contracts in the latest A Gold article:

“New contracts and likely to be more coming

Spurs like to wait until players return to the club before announcing new deals that were probably tied up weeks before.

It was the same last year with a series of new contracts dished out to players who were back in the building, all apart from the one for Davinson Sanchez.

This year, Harry Winks and Ben Davies, were both back at Hotspur Way yesterday and both were announced as having signed bumper five-year contracts on their first day back once all the photos and video interviews were done in the morning.

Spurs fans will be hoping that as other players return to the training pitches, so the new contract announcements will continue to roll out.”

Danny rose, sissoko, dier are all in need of new contracts.

Kristof will be the one to watch when it comes to Toby. He is very much ITK when it comes to Belgians in the PL.

Hopefully this will clear the confusion about the clause too.

Maybe I’m just cynical, but it wouldn’t surprise me if a PL rival makes a late move to buy him as close as possible to the 14 day time frame just to screw us over.
